I offer adaptive and inclusive French tutoring for all ages and abilities. I love making French fun and interesting for students by incorporating as much French culture as possible to put the language in context.

I tutor French for all students' needs, be they upcoming exams, conversational confidence or to refresh your existing knowledge.

I'm available for French one-on-one tutoring either in person or via Skype. Since tutoring via Skype for a year with university students in Canada and having run an after-school French club at a secondary school in Salford, I am able to adapt every lesson to the needs of the student.

About Me

Hello, I'm Jessica. I currently live in East London again after having spent the past few years living in France (Paris and Brest) and at university in Manchester studying French.
I love the French language and culture and I enjoy inspiring the same emotions in my students.
My style of teaching is flexible according to what suits the student best. For students whose aim is to improve their conversational French, I often keep things quite informal to allow for students to build their confidence in producing French themselves. For students who have an exam deadline, I am able to structure lessons to fit as much pure learning and revision in as required.
For all students, I like to have at least a three-pointed structure for every lesson to allow us to have clear aims and achievements at the beginning and end of every lesson.

I am an experienced Tutor who has been working in the Education industry for 8 years and have been tutoring for nearly 3 years. I am dedicated to ensuring that the children I work with continue to make accelerated progress in their learning. I begin with an initial assessment to identify areas of strength, weakness and optimum learning style. So that they can achieve expected levels and targets at the end of the year. I believe all children are different and therefore my approach varies depending on the child, their interests and what they need to be successful in their learning outcomes. A coursebook will also be used during lessons. I additionally assign homework after every lesson and provide periodic progress reports.

You'll learn the structure of the language, how to hold conversations, listening for gist and specific information, reading and writing texts of increasing complexity, how to fill out forms, writing letters to official bodies and of complaint, exam preparation e.g. for GCSE/A Level.

Spanish is the 4th most spoken language in the world, and being able to speak another language is becoming more and more desirable. As an A* Spanish student myself, I understand how difficult it can be to grasp a language in a classroom of 30 students. During my hour of tuition I will go through conjugating tenses in depth, speaking and writing skills.

Furthermore English literature is also my strong suite as an A* English student. I specialise specifically in GCSE English literature (Edexcel exam board) but will happily tutor for any other exam board. In English tutoring sessions I will go through key themes of plays/novels in depth and set essays once the student feels more confident. Before then, I will go through sample essays to discuss what went well and what could be improved.
