Sebastian is an experienced British Drummer, Sessional Player, Composer and Drum Tutor. He began to learn the Drums at the age of 6 and went on to complete Trinity Guildhall Drums (Grades 1-8) and holds a Grade 1 in ABRSM Music Theory.
Sebastian’s versatility ranges from Rock, to Funk, to Jazz and to Classical. During his secondary school era, Sebastian attended classes at C.Y.M. (Centre for Young Musicians) consisting of Percussion Ensembles, Symphony Orchestras, Jazz Bands and Music Technology. Additionally, he was a member of B.Y.W.O. (Barnet Youth Wind Orchestra) and N.Y.J.O. (National Youth Jazz Orchestra).
Whilst taking a Higher Diploma in Music Performance and ultimately a BMus (Hons) Popular Music Performance Degree at I.C.M.P. (The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance) in London, Sebastian has been teaching Drums to beginner and intermediate students (Privately, in Groups and Virtually). Furthermore, Sebastian has taught Percussion to pupils with disabilities at the Leonard Cheshire Archive Centre.
Since graduating, Sebastian has continued to extend his musical journey by simultaneously giving Drum Lessons, permanently joining original acts, performing all over the UK and Europe with numerous artists and function bands, participating in Music Videos and working in the studio with various musicians, producers and songwriters.

I am a graduate of the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and have been playing drums since I was 12. I have a wide breadth of playing experience including festivals, high-profile function gigs, studio recordings, international gigs, and more.

Having taught many students both individually and in groups, ranging from ages 5-50+, beginner to advanced, both privately and as a tutor at Preston Manor Music Academy, I am confident I can help you achieve your goals on the drums.

I try my best to make learning enjoyable for students but I also have high expectations as I believe every student has it in them to achieve the top grades.

I provide homework for each and every lesson. If students struggle with it, they come to me the following lesson and we go through the mistakes. I’ve been playing drums and guitar since I was 15 years old living in Venezuela. I continued my studies in an American college for a year, to then decide to get my bachelors degree in Italy; a school called MAEurope (or currently Music Academy), affiliated with Middlesex, ACM and LAMA. After getting my B.A. Degree I moved to London where I continued to teach with a couple of agencies and play as a session musician for a couple of acts.
I’ve been teaching since I was 22 years old in the same school I was getting my B.A. Degree: MAEurope. My first class ever were a group of 6-years old kids; lucky me ha? Well, they were great! The main challenge of having such a young age class was to keep them entertained and not loose focus. This situation gave me the tools to create my own way of teaching which is usually laid back, fun and not with a “school” approach towards the student. The kids don’t even realize they are learning until they actually get home and know how to play the instrument! Especially with young students. it is important to make the lessons fun and not tedious as this experience sets the way the student will look at the instrument for the rest of their lives: boring classes = boring instrument.
These tools are good for adults too. I won’t use childish games, of course; but the ability to keep the lesson fluent and entertaining is one of my priorities.

I’ve been teaching since I was 22 years old in the same school I was getting my B.A. Degree: MAEurope. My first class ever were a group of 6-years old kids; lucky me ha? Well, they were great! The main challenge of having such a young age class was to keep them entertained and not loose focus. This situation gave me the tools to create my own way of teaching which is usually laid back, fun and not with a “school” approach towards the student. The kids don’t even realize they are learning until they actually get home and know how to play the instrument! Especially with young students. it is important to make the lessons fun and not tedious as this experience sets the way the student will look at the instrument for the rest of their lives: boring classes = boring instrument.
These tools are good for adults too. I won’t use childish games, of course; but the ability to keep the lesson fluent and entertaining is one of my priorities.
