French might be one of the most complex language to learn. Letters that we do not pronounce, irregularities at each corner, one word meaning three different thing for a same pronunciation, sometimes an abstruse syntax... It is rather normal to have difficulties to learn it ! My goal is to make you exercise, to keep you challenged and curious about french culture.

Hence, you will mainly practice during this class. Through discussion, memory games, reading or writing. I only assign homework when the student has time to do it. French is meant to be enjoyed! I certainly do not want to overwhelm you. A short recap of the class will be sent to you after each session.

This class is designed for any level. From beginners to almost fluent students, the only thing you will need is curiosity and energy. Should you need to pass a test, a certificate, or should you just want to learn French to show off, we will make sure that your aims are achieved.

(Classes are also available in German and in English)

My name is Amandine and I am an experienced French and Spanish Tutor with over 8 years experience teaching privately students from different backgrounds and countries, including the USA, Australia, South America and Ireland.

I have studied French Literature and have completed a Bachelor in Translation at the University of Bordeaux (English/Spanish and French).

I am passionate by my language, country and culture and I love to share it with my students during my classes through grammar, conversation, writing, videos, informal classes at the museum etc. I use different supports (books, videos, plays, writing) to make you learn meanwhile enjoying the process.

I come from the South of France, nearby the border with Spain and have studied Spanish from a very young age, I have also lived in Spain and travelled in South America. Therefore I will be happy to help you with your prononciation, grammar, essays.

I make my classes fun, interactive and well structured to help you reach your learning goals. Together before we start the class we decide whether you want to focus on improving your written skills, want to improve your practice or want to mix both. I always mix in my classes grammar and vocabulary and often have themed-classes that will make you learn faster and enjoy the learning process.

I teach all ages and levels and I can help you with any French exams (DELF, DALF, GCSE, A-level).
Exam preparation for DELF & DALF, GCSE, business French (interviews, presentation skills, negotiations, etc.) as well as general French conversation.

Want to feel more confident speaking Spanish? In my classes, you'll learn more than just grammar—you’ll learn how to use it naturally in real conversations, both casual and formal. Spanish is a rich, expressive language, and once you get into it, you’ll see there are so many ways to say what you mean without getting stuck.

Preferably classes will be at my place, but they can be wherever you feel most comfortable—a café, a park, or any relaxed spot.

*Alumni Tuition Services offers English for Academic Purposes, IELTS and the Cambridge and Trinity main suites including KET, PET and FCE. I have experience of working in the oil industry, the automotive industry, the IT sector, banking, both audit and accounts.

* I use textbooks like Cambridge for Engineering, Technical English, Market Leader and English File. I have taught postgraduate students at the Birmingham International Academy. My students were studying MSc in Civil Engineering and Statistics, all passed their exams and proceeded onto the degree course. I have also taught the Trinity GESE speaking exam, IELTS, PET, KET and FCE.

*I have a knowledge of German, Italian, French and Spanish and I can communicate in these languages. I can offer online Skype classes with a comprehensive learning platform and lessons tailored through a needs analysis. I also offer English Literature to A level.
