About Me
Hello! My name is Anna, I am currently studying Graphic Design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. I am interested in design, typography, visual communication, literature, and linguistics.
I've been teaching English and French for 2 years now. I enjoy rediscovering these languages with my students, not only teaching and revising the essentials (grammar, vocabulary, etc) to help them communicate but also exploring cultural and etymological phenomenons. When teaching I am in a constant search for unusual mediums (books, platforms, videos, etc) to make lessons balanced and filled with various activities helping my students memorize the material and relate to the topic. I try to continuously track my students' progress to make their development visible and clear.
As a graphic design student, I am also fascinated by visual communication and image design. I would be happy to share my knowledge and help the ones interested discover various drawing and painting practices. My class in Illustration and Image design will encourage you to try out different techniques, manual (acrylic, charcoal, watercolor, pastel, crayons) and digital (Adobe Illustrator, ProCreate).
During these classes, I am also aiming to show how to communicate via image, and express a feeling or an idea using illustration (possibly via an exercise in comic design).
I am currently developing the methods that would make these classes exciting.
For instance, I am going to organize trips for 'Plein air' practice (outdoor observational drawing) around Belgium or make online presentations analyzing other artists' work for those studying remotely.
