Art and Politics: companion studies for A level and undergraduate Art History.
From 27 £ /h
The class will chart the development of European, American and International art history from 1900 to the present day, beginning with Post-Impressionism and its off-springs Cubism and Expressionism, the move into Abstraction post-war, to Conceptualism and Minimalism of the 1960s and 1970s which still have significant relevance in today's Contemporary art world. The focus will be on the wider political issues that impacted art history of the time, thereby using art history as a novel and unique lens through which we can gauge world history events, and its politics, in a potentially new and interesting light.

About Me
Having run my own art dealership business for almost 20 years, I recently returned to university and completed an MA in Art and Politics at Goldsmiths College in London. This is a new career for me, teaching and tutoring Art History, and my skills lie in assisting students in research and writing projects. I currently mentor EPQ students through the charity Art History Link Up as they undergo their first long piece of writing, a skill that is essential at university and beyond. I am also completing a TEFL level 5 course which will enable me to help international students in their written English.
