It can be hard to analyse the novels, prose, and poetry put before you in school. Many teachers may sound loony reading too deeply into the colour of a curtain. It is not hard to see why many people today don't enjoy reading.

My classes are about more than helping you reach your GCSE targets (although we will assuredly reach them), it is about seeing the skills Literature gives us in our everyday lives. We will focus on your syllabus and we will focus on your exams, but I intend to give you the tools and techniques by looking not only at the texts given by your school but by really engaging with what you look at after school. From the movies you watch, and the TV you binge, to the memes you likely send every day.

I believe that the easiest way to learn things is when you already love the subject. The character development, the themes, the techniques, these are things we already emotionally know and understand, the next step is to give names to those things we see all the time. I find myself using my 1st degree in Creative Writing & English Literature every day when I engage with pop culture. You will learn to appreciate more the things you already love.

After our initial session, classes from then on are tailor-made for you. I have tutored students from beginner to advanced, and understand that everyone comes with their own specific needs. Whether that comes from past exams, textbooks, or practice, we can get you where you need to go.

If a personalised teaching style and curriculum sounds like the thing you need, then please contact me today!
