Private saxophone lessons in Copenhagen with professional saxophonist and experienced teacher Mark Hurrell.

Lessons are individually tailored to your musical interests, experience and goals. Whether you’re picking up the saxophone for the first time, returning after a break, or an advanced player looking to develop your playing further, we’ll create a clear and enjoyable path for your progress.

Lessons can cover jazz, pop, improvisation, sound, technique, reading, ear training, repertoire and performance, with an emphasis on making music from the very beginning.

I have taught students from 5 to 85 years old, from complete beginners through to musicians preparing for conservatoire study and professional careers. I hold a Master’s degree in Music Performance and work professionally as a saxophonist, performing and recording internationally across a wide range of musical styles.

Lessons take place in my dedicated music studio in Valby, Copenhagen, with online lessons also available. Don’t have a saxophone yet? Instruments are available to rent, so you can get started without buying one straight away.

Most importantly, lessons should be something you look forward to. We’ll take your musical development seriously while keeping the atmosphere relaxed, encouraging and fun.

Hi,

My name is Can. I've been teaching guitar for 28 years at all levels. If you want to learn to play the most useful and popular instruments in the music world you can join my lessons.

You can play almost all kinds of genres with the guitar. It is the only string instrument which is really polyphonic. The guitar is like an orchestra. Every instrument of the orchestra is inside the guitar but in a smaller sound size. It has many different colors, many different timbres.

Besides teaching this awesome instrument I will also teach you using the programs that help to improvise, recording, and making music. I will give you books, etudes to develop your speed and precision in a short time. After being advanced we will study different genres like rock, blues, jazz, improvisation and solo transcriptions.

All levels are accepted.

With over 8 years of experience teaching music, to both children and adults, I am passionate about inspiring my pupils through art and music! I have experience in teaching both celtic and pedal harp, music theory and piano.

Have you been trying to teach yourself the guitar and still find it a pain to play? Or have you been taking lessons and still feel restricted and unhappy? Do not fear, Yvette (she/her) is here to help! With my classes, not only will you learn to play with ease, you will also be able to crack the code of music, so you will understand how notes, chords, rhythm and music theory relate to each other. You will no longer be simply playing through mindless memorization or repetition. You will also learn how to listen to yourself and recognize when you have played well, and when you have made mistakes.
Although I am classically trained, I started guitar playing rhythmic music, such as nirvana and the beatles, and I still have a deep understanding of the style and have taught it for years. I aim to teach guitar the right way, without taking short cuts that limit knowledge and development later on. I have a personalised approach to each student, refusing to force them to play exactly as I do, but helping them to refine their own innate technique. To that end, I create my own exercises for my students, compiling the best from the existing literature, and am working to creating my own guitar method book.

The kanun is an instrument of the zither family, used historically in various cultures including Arabic, Armenian, Turkish and Greek. I am a professional performer and hold a Bachelor's degree in Musicology from the University of Ioannina (Greece), specializing in the kanun.
In the lesson we will be focusing on technique, repertoire (mainly Greek and Ottoman), makam theory and elements of taksim improvisation. The level and pace of lessons will completely adapt to the needs and interests of each student.

I’ve been teaching for 15-years in various musical styles and I’m offering specifically-tailored lessons to students of all ages, background, experience level. I teach in both english and danish. Hello! My name is Fyllenia, and I am a professional harpist based in Denmark. I have studied music in Greece, the Netherlands, and Sweden, and have performed as both a soloist and orchestral musician in several European countries.
