Hi! My name Matt. I’m a passionate teacher of music. I teach piano, composition, music theory, ear-training and rhythmic studies. I’ve been teaching for 15-years in various musical styles and I’m offering specifically-tailored lessons to students of all ages, background, experience level. I teach in both english and danish. I'm generous with my knowledge and time :)

Outside of formal education across Europe and Canada (Jazz masters in Performance, Post-Masters in Composition, Royal Conservatory of Music, grade 10) I’ve lived in places like South India (studying Carnatic classical music) and Bali (studying Gamelan music). Therefor my outlook and musical philosophy is very broad, international and holistic.

Look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Matt

• I see private lessons as a way to make music personal and inspiring. I don’t follow traditional textbooks — instead, I focus on what the student truly wants and needs.

• Technique & Method:
I adapt my method to each student. We focus on songs or styles the student loves, while also developing ear training, note reading, and basic music theory in a practical and simple way.

• Lesson duration:
Lessons are usually 45–60 minutes, depending on the student’s age and focus.

• Qualifications & Experience:
I studied piano for 8 years at a music school in Odesa, Ukraine. I’ve been playing for over 10 years and started teaching in April 2025.

• Who my lessons are for:
My lessons are for beginners of all ages — kids, teens, or adults. I teach in English and I travel to the student’s home in Malmö.

If you want relaxed and useful lessons that actually match your goals — I’m here for you!

It doesn't matter what your taste or current skill level is; we'll explore what you want so that music can serve the purpose it has in your life. If you want to learn how to play the piano, you will receive guidance on technique and interpretation to the degree that you find useful. If you want to better understand how music works, we will cover the basics of music theory and go further if you'd like. Finally, if you want to create music, whether that's producing it in a DAW or composing a piece of classical music, I'll give you all the tools you need to express yourself.

Are you a beginner, or have you played piano before and would like to continue? Perhaps you want to start again after a break or learn a particular piece?

I hold a bachelor’s degree from the Academy of Music in Poznań and have studied piano at master’s level at Lund University. I also have training in music education and have been teaching piano since 2017.

I can help you develop your playing and understand the music. We can work on technique, reading sheet music, ear training, and musical expression.

You’re welcome to bring music you’d like to play. If you’re not sure where to start, we can choose something together. Both children and adults are welcome!
