About Me

I have a great passion for maths and science and have loved them from a very young age. From the very start of primary school, I have used every opportunity I could to explain maths to people who struggle with the subject. Every time I used to explain solutions to my fellow pupils, I realized that teaching gave me this euphoric feeling that I don't get from anything else. That is when I realized I wanted to teach maths. I tutor my little sister maths and seeing her progress makes be so refreshed. I crave for that feeling I get when I teach, knowing I am actually contributing to society, being useful and doing something that makes me smile. Seeing my students improve their skills after my contribution is what makes this so special to me. I am ecstatic at the thought of receiving the opportunity to teach people something I love.

(Note: many pupils said that they understood it much better when I explained it than when the teacher explained it. This is why I believe that teaching isn't only about the age you are, or how much experience you have, but also your natural skill is a big part of it. So a 16-year-old with some A levels can easily be a better teacher than a 40-year-old with a Ph.D. and age shouldn't restrict you in reaching your full potential).

I have great organizational skills so will be thoroughly prepared for every lesson. My belief is that every student should have the opportunity to work at their own pace and be able to fulfill their potential, something that is sometimes not possible in a classroom environment. I find myself a quite patient person so I will always remain calm. I have been told by a number of people that I have good leadership skills, motivational skills and that I am good at explaining concepts and hard problems to people of different mindsets. Also, I am very creative so will find different ways of teaching my students in a way that is simply not possible in a classroom environment of 20 people. My lessons will be tailored to every individual student's needs and any requests can be catered for. My students will go at their own pace to maximize their experience with my service. I am very adaptable and believe that teachers should not have a fixed teaching style, but should change their style to benefit the student's needs as different students learn effectively in different ways. I love the challenge of improving my students' knowledge of the subject and ensuring they get the grade they yearn for. I can assure you that I am reliable and am the best person to tutor your child.

Education

I am applying for a maths course in the University of Dundee this year and went to Harris Academy Dundee for schooling. I Have also completed the Bronze DofE award and have a satire award for 200 hours volunteering. I also represented my school in a design competition called 'Creative Spaces' with 3 other pupils in my school against 22 schools and our team won.

Benoit
Private online mathematics lessons - Qualified and experienced teacher
I am a qualified and experienced mathematics tutor. Graduated from the Free University of Brussels in 2011, I started my career by teaching remedial courses in different schools in Brussels. I then specialized in individual academic support by following educational training at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have been giving private mathematics lessons daily for over ten years. The students who follow my private lessons benefit from personalized support. The first session is devoted to an in-depth assessment of the student's mathematical knowledge. The objective is to detect its weak points and understand their origin in order to adapt my courses to its needs. I develop a tailor-made remediation program for each of my students aimed at filling each of their gaps. Over the course of the sessions, the student builds a solid foundation for learning and regains self-confidence. At the same time, I help him acquire a work methodology that allows him to gradually become autonomous in his studies. I have a perfect knowledge of the mathematics program of the College and the High School (from the Sixth to the Terminale). During my formative years, I studied and developed many techniques that make it easier to learn math. The strength of my pedagogical approach lies in my ability to explain in a simple way everything that the student finds complicated. I am passionate about this job because it gives me the opportunity to guide dropout students on the path to success. It is a real pleasure to see them evolve and come to terms with the fantastic world of mathematics. I provide my private lessons in Limoges (at the student's home) or remotely (online via the internet). My distance learning courses take place on an interactive online whiteboard. This board is specially designed to promote student/teacher interaction on the internet. Thanks to this educational tool, my online courses are as effective as home courses. The student only needs an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or smartphone to take advantage of it.

Salah Eddine
Math support courses for high school students (Science Maths, Science Exp, Letters ...)
As a teaching professional, I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge. My goal is to provide quality education. I am aware that some topics may seem complex, but often this is simply the result of an inadequate explanation by the teacher. With me, you will discover a real interest in the material! We strive together to achieve academic excellence, overcoming the shortcomings and difficulties encountered by your child. Studies will become a pleasant experience for him. In addition to the courses, I can also help with school orientation, identifying their preferences and highlighting the advantages and benefits of a fulfilling educational ambition. The sessions generally take place according to the following stages: 1️⃣ The first sessions are devoted to the assessment of the student's level in order to detect existing gaps. 2️⃣ Next, we create a personalized plan to address these gaps, including the number of hours of work needed, specific areas to focus on, and appropriate training and development exercises. 3️⃣ We stay in constant contact with the student's class teacher, to keep up to date with the latest requirements and ensure a consistent approach. 4️⃣ Subsequently, I provide exams similar to those that are likely to be asked in class, to prepare the student effectively. 5️⃣ Upon request, I write a regular report, usually monthly, to keep parents informed of their child's progress throughout their course. I adapt my methodology according to the specific needs of each student, thus offering them a personalized and adapted work approach. In addition, I offer crash courses for students preparing for the start of the school year, allowing them to start the year well prepared, with a solid lead on the school curriculum. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. I will be happy to help you.

Niyaz
Mathematics for younger kids who are willing to improve on their maths skills.
To help children succeed in math, I would focus on creating a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment that builds their confidence and problem-solving skills. Here’s how I would approach it: Assessing the Child’s Current Level: The first step would be to understand each child’s current abilities, strengths, and areas needing improvement. I would assess their understanding of math fundamentals, such as basic operations, number sense, or algebra, depending on their age and level. Building Strong Foundations: I would ensure that students have a solid grasp of the foundational concepts before moving to more complex topics. This may include reinforcing basic arithmetic, number theory, or explaining core concepts in geometry and algebra clearly. Personalized Learning Plans: Every child learns at a different pace, so I would tailor my lessons to each child's needs. For some, this may mean breaking problems down into smaller, manageable steps, while for others, I might introduce more challenging material to keep them engaged. Making Math Fun and Engaging: I would incorporate games, puzzles, and real-life examples to make math relatable and enjoyable. Interactive learning keeps children engaged and reduces the fear often associated with math. Step-by-Step Problem Solving: I would teach students how to approach math problems methodically by breaking them down into smaller, logical steps. This helps develop critical thinking and enables students to solve even complex problems with confidence. Encouraging a Growth Mindset: Mistakes are part of learning. I would encourage a growth mindset by praising effort over results, showing students that challenges and mistakes help them grow and improve. Regular Practice and Reinforcement: I would provide practice exercises, both during tutoring sessions and as homework, ensuring that students get ample opportunity to reinforce what they’ve learned. Gradual increases in difficulty would help keep them challenged but not overwhelmed. Real-Time Feedback: During lessons, I would provide immediate feedback, correcting errors and explaining where things went wrong. This helps to clear misconceptions right away and solidify understanding. Utilizing Visuals and Manipulatives: I would incorporate visual aids, such as diagrams, charts, and physical objects (manipulatives), especially for younger children. These tools help explain abstract concepts and make math more tangible. Building Confidence and Independence: Over time, I would encourage children to try solving problems on their own. I would gradually reduce assistance as they develop more confidence, allowing them to take ownership of their learning and celebrate their progress. By focusing on these key areas, I aim to make math approachable, enjoyable, and successful for children at any level.
