I hold a B A in English and TELF cert. I’ve been teaching English for twenty years (I’m a mature lady) and I’ve written grammar handbooks, short stories in English and Spanish and novels. My classes are on line and in my own classroom in Rl Campello with all material supplied. I teach all levels from Basic, B1,B2, C1, all C advanced plus academic + job interviews and business language. Job interview techniques and mock interview during role-play and of course conversation techniques

About Me

I’m a mature teacher of English and enjoyed teaching In academies such as RTV MADRID, Lingurama, Rosarmaria Guadalajara . Pardonia and privately from my own home.
My methods are direct and simple helping students to speak fluently, to listen & understand with ease, and feel secure in their ability to pass exams and job interviews without stress. Children enjoy my group classes in Alicante & I’ve had the pleasure of teaching some of their parents throughout the years. From September 2025 students and parents can avail of living in courses with programmed classes and conversation in a modern apartment near beach and all modern amenities.

I had further education in Dublin college Ireland and then worked as a sport’s therapist before taking TEFL & becoming a teacher of English. I've written grammar books and short stories in English with Spanish translation and audios of me reading the stories aloud.

I started my career as an English language teacher in 2008 and soon became very passionate about language learning and teaching. This culminated in a Masters degree in second-language acquisition and a CELTA Certificate from Dundee College. I specialised in Trinity and Cambridge exams and also in conversational English for practical and everyday use.

After many years overseas, both teaching and examining English, I have returned to Spain and am available to share my extensive experience and expertise in all aspects of English. I currently work as an Aviation teacher in a school in Alicante where I have taught for some years.

My teaching approach is student-centred and communicative, where learning is a positive experience in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. All my students are encouraged to speak as much as possible to increase fluency. Professionalism, patience and a good sense of humour guaranteed!

All lesson materials are provided free of charge. I teach using a mixture of coursebook material , whiteboard presentations, listening activities, video clips and general speaking practice.

While my classes are 100% in English, I can also speak Spanish and some Italian words. This gives me a real insight as to why students make certain mistakes, and how to best avoid them. I really enjoy teaching and helping people improve and grow in confidence.

I help students to prepare for ILETS examinations and interview practice through role playing - we learn by doing and not simply by reading or grammar. I love talking with my students, so I aim to bring out that side in them too.

I'm a native British tutor with over 20 years of tutoring experience. I first began tutors GCSE subjects to students in the UK when I was finishing my PhD. Tutoring has always been my passion because I love seeing students see how easy it actually is to learn a topic, when they are shown how to learn it in a fun and easy to understand manner.

When I was a Management Consultant in the corporate sector for 16 years prior to making a career change to pursue my childhood passion of teaching, we didn't hire people who had the best grades - we hired people who were effective leaders, had critical thinking and analysis skills, and demonstrated creative problem solving skills.

I aim to help a student to build these skills through gentle enquiry, fun conversations, interactive games and teaching topics from a real life perspective via role plays when appropriate.

We learn by doing, not by thinking alone.
