Friendly and professional tutor with extensive experience of teaching students with additional learning needs, working with the student to develop teaching methods that they find engaging.

I usually suggest an introductory session with the student and parent to help me understand what is required and to work out a suitable program that everyone is happy with (including costs).

We then have a few weeks' lessons to make sure that everyone is still happy with what has been agreed, and with the progress that has been made.

I have taught functional skills, GCSE, A Level and undergraduate level courses in a variety of subjects, so please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
Extra information
Please let me know of any accommodations that you are aware of that might make learning easier - but don't worry if you are not sure, we will have that discussion as part of our introductory chat

About Me
It might sound clichéd (and counter-intuitive for a private tutor!), but I genuinely believe that the best teacher is one who makes themselves redundant.

I have worked in both mainstream and special education schools, and have both personal and professional experience of individuals with additional learning needs. I didn't have a great experience at school and was misunderstood by my teachers, which is why I decided to become one - so that I could do a better job.

I work with students and their parents to work out how to personalise their tutoring experience, and help design a curriculum that uses individual interests and preferred teaching techniques to achieve increased confidence, competence and skills.

I love learning - even now - and continue to study new things to acquire more knowledge.
