His exceptional talent was publicly recognized in 2002 when his band debuted six original compositions at a major music festival.
Key Collaborations and Ensemble Leadership
In 2004, He was a founding member of the SS Jazz Orchestra, which established itself as the first full-size big band in the Middle East. He also led his own ensemble, the Amr Band, touring extensively across the region.
A highlight of his career was performing with the legendary bebop saxophonist Charles Davis (known for his work with Billie Holiday, John Coltrane, and Ben Webster) in 2009. That same year, he collaborated with the acclaimed Lebanese composer and pianist, Ziad Rahbani (son of Fairuz).
He was deeply inspired by the pedagogy and style of American bebop jazz pianist Barry Harris, which influenced his performance and teaching approach. He has also collaborated with various artists across Europe.
International Performance and Recordings
In 2009, He recorded his first unofficial album, Time Circle, a seven-track collection with his trio. Later, touring the UK, he performed in various London venues with double bassist Oli Hayhurst, notably joining singer Juliet Kelly. He concluded his UK tour by performing as the Amr Trio, featuring Oli Hayhurst and drummer Gene Calderazzo.
Personal Philosophy (First Person)
"Since childhood, music has been a constant presence in my life. While I greatly enjoy performing, my true passion lies in improvising and the dynamic interaction with other musicians. There is nothing more rewarding than building that vital energy between us and forging a meaningful connection with the audience. It is simply, a great experience."
