I am a pianist with extensive experience in the art of piano playing and teaching. Therefore, I can not only teach piano playing, but also do so in a friendly and motivating atmosphere. Working with students of all ages and levels, I know how to make lessons interesting, varied and beneficial. In my lessons, you will not only acquire skills in piano music, but also basic knowledge of music theory, which will make working with musical material much easier. Thanks to my many years of experience as a pianist in hotels in various countries, I can not only teach you how to play classical pieces, but also help you play your favorite hits by ear, read sight quickly and accurately, and improvise.

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. I give private piano lessons for all levels and styles (classical, jazz, Latin, new age, pop...), as well as music theory, composition and improvisation lessons. My lessons are distinguished by their dynamics, practical approach and adaptation to the needs and interests of the student. The lessons (live or online) take place in my studio next to the Maastunnel, where I have a premium stage piano and a top-quality webcam setup. I speak Dutch at an intermediate level, which is improving every day.

Hi! I am a piano teacher with 10 years of teaching experience. I specialize with online piano teaching and I choose individual program for each of my students. I teach all around the globe, mostly students from China and Canada. I grew up in musician family. My father plays viola in Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Poland and my mother teaches theory and history of music. I have two sisters who are also musicians. I like sport activities like climbing, cycling, hiking and long walks in the forest. I like Asian and Italian cuisine. My favourite meals are sushi, ramen, pizza and spaghetti pasta. Later I moved to Canada to continue my education with professor Lee Kum Sing at Vancouver Academy of Music (2017-2019). During my career I achieved numerous awards on many significant piano competitions. I have become platinum winner at Vancouver International Music Competition in 2017 which was held to celebrate 150th Canada’s birthday. I became Platinum Cash Prize Winner and achieved numerous extra prices. In October 2015 I accomplished the second round of XVII International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. This achievement is a promotion to the top 30 world best young pianists. I achieved 3rd place twice (2013, 2015) in the National Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland. In 2008, I won the first prize and the Special Award of Elżbieta Stefańska for the best performance of Johann Sebastian Bach piece at the 10th Ludwik Stefański and Halina Czerny-Stefańska Piano Competition in Płock, Poland. Two years later I received second price in the 16th Polish Piano Competition in Konin, Poland and I was awarded the third prize at the International Podkarpacki Chopin Competition held in Rzeszów, Poland. I have been awarded many scholarships, such as those sponsored by the Mayor of my hometown Katowice, the Marshal of Silesian Province and the Polish Prime Minister. I cooperated with Piotr Kler Foundation and recorded three solo CDs with Fryderyk Chopin's music. In 2014 I was the very first to receive a Krystian Zimerman Award for most talented young pianists.

The older I get, the more I love. Especially during these times of immense ugliness and hate, wars and conflict, music- that's always been all about love - is the home I keep returning to. To me, mentoring someone is all about sharing the love for the instrument, thirst about the material, desire to explore new musical paths and respect for whatever happens whilst playing. Not only we will explore technical paths and understand rhythm under a totally different light but also communicate through improvisation and modal principles. My goal is for you to love the instrument a bit more, music a bit more and as Antoine de Saint-Exupéry said "Perhaps love is the process of my leading you gently back to yourself". Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else. I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard. My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student. Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you. A bit about me: Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'.
