Private Tutor for Primary Students over Summer Vacation (English Speaking)

The class is intended for advanced students who are enrolled in (pre-)Master courses in one or more of the following topics: Machine Learning, Stochastic Processes, Markov Chains, Queueing Theory, Stochastic Calculus, Stochastic Differential Equations and Applications, and Risk Management.

During my studies in Econometrics at the University of Amsterdam (graduated in 2015, MSc.) and in addition to my job as a consultant, I have always taught mathematics and statistics to secondary school students and university students (HBO and WO) with great pleasure. Since 2022 I work parttime as a math teacher and educational advisor in the Emma Children's Hospital in Amsterdam and besides I teach private students. Lessons can be taught in English or Dutch and face-to-face or online, depending on the location. Location face-to-face classes: Citizen M Amsterdam, at your home or in the public library. It is possible to arrange group lessons (max 3 students).

Mathematics is often a difficult subject for many students in high school. What I have noticed while learning math is that it is about the fun you have while learning to understand math. I will happily work with my students to ensure that they understand mathematics, enjoy it, and come home with great grades! At home, in the library, or online. I am an enthusiastic teacher who has taught general and business English, and English for academic purposes. Having experience with both teenagers and adults, I specialize in tutoring English based on four skills: Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. I plan my lessons regarding the student's needs and goals. In my lessons, I prefer using different teaching coursebooks and authentic resources (e.g. online articles, newspapers, magazines). I believe anyone can learn math. And with an average rating of 8.5 for my exam training at, among others, lyceo, I have experienced a lot of others doing the same. We usually start with some (simple) exercises around the subject to gauge your understanding. This way I can construct a tailor-made approach that guarantees you will see the light. There are, of course, no real guarantees in education. But I can guarantee that after every hour of tutoring, you will be a little closer to the math genius that you really are. We can go through exam practice papers, content from class you do not understand or revision. I am a student at the moment myself, so believe I can give an understanding and patient learning environment.

I am currently enrolled to study Politics, Philosophy and Economics at King's College in London. For my GCSEs I received 10 A*s and for my International Baccalaureate I scored 40 points. My specialties are Maths, English, Geography and Economics. I would like to tutor children from the ages 6 to 16. My goal for my lessons is to help students with their homework, improve their general understanding of the subject and to prepare for exams. During high school I was a member of the National Honour Society whereby I tutored students younger than myself and my age twice a week, thus I have learnt how to better explain things and I know the importance of hard work.
