Hello, my name is Leonie and I am a singer, singing teacher and acting trainer.
In my singing lessons I will help you discover your natural voice, free it and/or deepen your experiences. My approach is holistic and creates a connection between body and voice. My lessons usually consist of part warm-up exercises for the voice and body and part artistic work in one go. Since singing can be something very intimate/personal, I adapt the lessons individually to you. Together we discover your strengths. Methodically, I work with, among other things, the Michael Chekhov acting technique and teach various musical styles.

My area of expertise is pop / musical singing and anatomical voice guidance. For me there is no such thing as “THE ONE” vocal technique.

However, I work with all directions that help. It can be a varied program of Belcanto and Estill voice training.

For 3 years I have been teaching the Turkish string instrument Saz in Hamburg-Jenfeld, both privately and individually.
I am a composer and textwriter with around 1,300 of my own songs.

Singing Lessons
I am a native English speaker and have been teaching for over 10 years. My lessons are always fun and engaging because I believe that singing should be about sharing joy. I have students of all ages. In lessons we will work towards your personal goals and towards a healthy vocal technique. We will work at your level to learn more about how the voice works and how to achieve the best sound for what you want to sing. We can use German or English for technical terminology. My speciality is classical music and opera but I have also performed in Musicals and understand the different technical demands for popular music.

I also have a scheme to help people improve sight reading skills, which is very useful if you want to join a choir.

Music Theory Lessons
Lessons will be made to suit your needs. You may want to pass an exam, or maybe just understand more about the dots on the page. We can use German or English technical terms for these lessons.

Qualifications:
BMus - Degree in Music from Royal Holloway, University of London
PGCE (Music) - Certificate fo Secondary Education, Music
MMus - Masters in Singing from DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, Ireland.

The main goal in my lessons is that students are able to prepare songs by themselves and sing in a healthy, confident and happy way. Singing training needs to be done regularly and carefully so our muscles will remember everything. At the beginning, my lessons focus on building a solid foundation in techniques.

To help you understand your voice, body and self awareness, I will keep asking about your feelings to lead you in understanding how to utilise your body and get to know your own voices.
I can also do vocal therapy if you have a damaged or uncomfortable voice, regardless of whether singing or speaking.

A little about me: I hold both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Music Education from Near East University, where I graduated as the top of my class. I later completed a second Master’s in Jazz & Pop Vocal Performance at ArtEZ Conservatory in The Netherlands. In January 2025, I won the GRAND PRIX award with my original song CHAINS at The World Association of Festivals (WAF) music contest. In 2024, I performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands, won first prize with my original at the Meikin Asia International Music Competition, and debuted my song with the Orchestra of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku in 2023.

I wrote and produced The Voice of the Unseen, the original soundtrack for The Divided Island, an award-winning documentary acclaimed for its "Powerful Message for Peace" and "Best Cinematography" at the Cyprus International Film Festival in 2024 and set to be streamed on Netflix in 2025.
