About Me

I am a student, so I understand how it feels to be busy so I will be very patient. I would only give assignments if the student feels like he/she has time to complete it and is willing to practice.

Education

Queen Mary University of London, I am currently in the 3rd year of my medical degree. I did 3 subjects in A levels and 10 in my GCSE's. I studied music from the age of 5 till 17.

I have a Grade 8 in Acoustic Guitar, a Grade 7 Classical Guitar and a Grade 7 Classical Piano. I also play other musical instruments like the tabla and harmonium.

I specialise in teaching music composition, production, and piano. I have a BA from the University of Oxford in Music, and I am a professional TV and Film composer. I am also able to teach music theory, history, and ear training.

My goal is to create lessons that help my students to get an interactive, un-intimidating, and fun filled musical education. For beginners: songs, games, improvisation, creation. The links with song and rhythm are very important to have a healthy foundation. The musical notions are approached gradually by experience then by recognition. Reading and writing are brought about by creation and musical composition.

For the more experienced, polyphony and difficult passages can be approached with different tools, by awareness of harmony and melodic modes and polyrhythm. Sometimes it is enough to be aware of simplicity to overcome difficult passages.

I push to go further in the quality of the interpretation with simple means to better understand the music and thus allow more expressiveness and freedom.

I also offer improvisation, harmony,
lessons in musical ensembles, especially vocal polyphony for children, and lessons for specific needs, for example just intonation for singers or other instruments.
