Tutoring for Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Geography, RS, Physics, and English
From 15 £ /h
I am a UCL Biological Sciences student seeking to offer a highly personalised tutoring experience that caters to my students' needs. I currently teach from Year 7 upwards with a speciality in exam preparation. I teach Geography, RS, Physics, and English from Years 7-11, and Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry from Years 7-13.
I aim to understand my tutees' unique concerns and explain concepts simply with many alternative approaches. As someone who has experienced obstacles to my own learning, I have a lot of empathy for students struggling with their learning, particularly those with learning differences and endeavour to develop an approach that works for them.
I was a strong student in secondary school (Queen’s College, London) achieving A*s and As (and equivalents) at GCSE and three As at A-Level in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Particularly of note, I received a 9 in GCSE Mathematics, 98% in GCSE Religious Studies, and was awarded a sixth-form academic scholarship.
I am an experienced tutor - I participated in a tutoring scheme in secondary school which allowed students from Year 7 to Year 12 to ask any questions they might be struggling with in any subject they wished. This allowed me to continue to engage with my GCSE content during my A-Level years and taught me how to listen to and understand the particular needs of each student at a given moment. I also tutored family and friends of family, allowing me to engage personally with my students and develop a specialised teaching approach.
I offer one hour and two hour sessions and am free on weekends, after 5pm, and whenever my university timetable permits. I am generally free at all times outside of university term time.

About Me
I am a student at UCL studying Biological Sciences. I believe the current education system narrows your field of interest until you become very knowledgeable in a specific subject. However, most do not enter their field of study professionally. Therefore the knowledge you learn from GCSEs and A-Levels is important not just in exams but beyond as there is no knowing what may be useful to you in the future. Exams are of course also important for achieving your academic goals, and as I attended a school with a very strong focus on exam results, I have many useful tools and tips that I used myself as a student that I’d be delighted to pass on to my tutees. As someone who is neurodivergent, I am also aware that different students need different learning techniques which I try to implement in my classes.
In my spare time, I am currently embarking on a project with my friends where we self-learn the history of everything and learn a basic grasp of every discipline. As of writing this, I am currently learning and teaching the natures and behaviours of subatomic particles. I enjoy listening to lectures on anything and everything - I recently finished a series on moral philosophy.

Education
Queen's College, London
I was consistently an academically capable student throughout my school career. I received five A*s and five As at GCSE and was awarded a Sixth Form scholarship for academic excellence. I received three As at A-level in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. I was very involved in extracurricular activities: I founded and led Animal Ethics Society, was the secretary for and later led our school's Eco Committee, and was the Co-founder and Organiser of the LGBTQueen's club.
University College London
I currently study MSci Biological Sciences at UCL, and hope to specialise in Bioinformatics as I enjoy practising statistics and would love to use it to make a better world.
