The recorder is a great instrument to learn either on its own or as a springboard for transferring to other instruments! Lessons will improve your musicality and your playing, no matter your level, and teach you to enjoy and express yourself through music. As a beginner, you or your child can expect to learn the basics of music notation and how to read it, and how to play simple pieces on the recorder. Intermediate and advanced students can expect more nuanced lessons on technique, musicality, phrasing, and more. Basic theory and aural skills training will be incorporated throughout, and students can work towards graded exams if they wish. My name is Daniela, and I am a cross-over violist from Costa Rica. I moved to the Netherlands in 2020 to pursue my studies at Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam, where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Classical Music (Viola). I am currently continuing my journey at Codarts with a Master's degree in Latin Music. During my time in the Netherlands, I have been part of a wide range of musical projects across different genres — from classical orchestras and chamber music to pop, jazz, and world music collaborations. I've performed with ensembles such as the Jong Metropole and recorded with various pop, jazz, and fusion bands. I am also the bandleader of my own Latin project, La Reunión, and work as a freelance musician with diverse musical groups. Before moving to the Netherlands, I studied Music Education at the University of Costa Rica and worked for several years as a private teacher. I have experience teaching violin and viola to both children and adults. As a teacher, I am kind and patient.
