Hello! My name is Yann, I am a young 27-year-old professional musician and bassist with a Master's degree in Jazz Performance from the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne. I give between 60 and 70 concerts per year. I also have extensive experience as a musician, producer, and composer in professional studios in France, Norway, and Switzerland. I have contributed to several online releases, whether by composing, co-producing, recording, or remixing. I will help students build music production skills! I can provide an introduction to making beats, soundscapes, field recording, and general listening recommendations or help aspiring producers with tracks. I'm experienced in Digital Audio Workstations such as Ableton Live (I run Ableton 11), Audacity, and Koala Sampler and have experience teaching beatmaking classes for beginners and intermediate students. For beginner students, we will start with inexpensive DAWS and talk about what kind of electronic music best suits their purpose. I will also provide listening and historical examples that can provide inspiration for production.

I am a singer/songwriter and freelance session vocalist by trade. My lessons focus on creating music rather than simply doing cover songs, although I can help you learn cover songs as well. I began my musical learning journey at the age of 16 with classical singing lessons. I quickly moved on to more contemporary styles of music. Between the ages of 17 and 18, I was lucky enough to be selected for the X Factor television show in France. Following the show, I learned to write my own music and have been writing ever since. My main goal with teaching is to instill a love and appreciation for music and to guide people in creating their own music.
