About Me

I followed the course of the School of Jazz and Current Music of Lausanne and I am currently in bachelor at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne.
I offer lessons in electric and acoustic guitar for beginners or intermediate students.
Being passionate about different styles of music, my career has allowed me to acquire skills in many fields, ranging from rock to pop through funk and jazz.
The lessons can be given in French, English or Italian and take place either at the student's home or at my home in the Prélaz district of Lausanne.

I graduated with a Master in Jazz performance and composition and a Master in Jazz instrumental pedagogy at the HEMU in Lausanne. I have gained teaching experience since 2013 through private lessons as well as lessons in two music schools. I am a musician in different groups (Traditional Jazz, Jazz-fusion, Modern Jazz (my sextet)) in France and Switzerland. I also trained in classical orchestration for two years.

My lessons are aimed at beginners as well as more advanced, of all ages.

We will be able to approach the technical notions of the instrument in order to better master it but also improvisation, musical theory, composition, rhythm.
I try to base my pedagogy on the musical tastes of the students while making them discover, by listening or playing, other musical currents.

Hello, my name is Bastien and I am 22 years old! I have been playing guitar since I was 11, as well as bass and piano for a few years, and I compose and produce music.

I offer guitar lessons adapted to levels ranging from beginner to intermediate and for all kinds of music; Pop, Funk, Disco, Rock, Indie, Motown, RnB, etc. But I can also teach advanced students who would like to learn more and specialize in funk / disco playing and techniques: popping, strumming, skunk.

The 5 string banjo is an amazing instrument. It's driving trademark sound and it's African roots has contributed to many music traditions, including Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz and world music.

In my class you'll first learn the basics, how to hold and pick and read tablatures. We'll then go through how to play a tune, accompany other instruments and finally, improvise. During the year I'll teach you basic music theory like rhythm, harmony and a bit of ear training to help you develop your understanding and relationship to the instrument.

We'll mainly play Bluegrass Scruggs style at first, then we'll dive into melodic style and sigle string, that will all be useful for playing other kinds of music, like Irish music, Pop, Jazz or Blues.
