About Me

As a child, I received a classical education on the violin. During my musicology studies in Giessen, I came into contact with Klezmer music and other European folk music styles. Since then, I have been fascinated by the traditional music of Europe. Later, I studied jazz violin at the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels and completed my training there with teacher training, which enables me to teach music in Germany up to the Abitur.

However, my heart beats for the violin and teaching how to play it. In my lessons, I place value on a good mix of theory and technique, whereby listening and feeling, communicating and the joy of expressing oneself and coming into contact with one another are always the starting point and goal of our work.
All of my students get the opportunity to play regularly in small ensembles. I call my 'rehearsals' violin FESTIVALS because no one has to stand up front alone, everyone can do everything, we play together for each other and our listeners and if there are lyrics, then everyone has to sing. Especially the listeners ;-)!

As a performing musician, I have been on stage in recent years mainly with Eastern European music. My most important projects are Halva and Azind. I have also been a lecturer at various Klezmer workshops in and outside Germany for many years and am a soloist and section leader in the 80-member Klezmer Orchestra in Erfurt.

I have been teaching for almost 20 years, both privately and at various music schools. My path has taken me from Giessen to Berlin, Brussels and Ghent in Belgium and now to Leipzig.
Since August 2023, for the first time, I am no longer obliged to attend a music school, but teach and work independently in a room rented specifically for this purpose in Leipzig Schönefeld.
