Maths and English and year 6 sats practice with mock exams

Welcome to my Maths and English tutoring classes, designed for students in Years 1 to 7. With four years of experience in helping students build confidence and mastery in these subjects, I am dedicated to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Maths: In our Maths sessions, we will focus on key concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and basic geometry. I use interactive games, real-life applications, and problem-solving activities to make learning enjoyable and relevant. My approach emphasizes understanding over memorization, ensuring that students develop strong foundational skills that will serve them throughout their academic journey.

English: For English, we will work on reading comprehension, vocabulary development, grammar, and writing skills. I encourage students to express their ideas creatively through storytelling and structured writing exercises. We will also explore various texts to enhance their understanding and appreciation of literature, fostering a love for reading.

Why Choose Me? With four years of experience, I have honed my ability to identify individual learning styles and tailor lessons accordingly. I believe in creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is to empower students with the skills they need to succeed and foster a lifelong love for learning.

Let’s embark on this educational journey together!

Mark
Maths tutor for all ages and abilities. Happy to help with exam preparation
Maths is a highly useful skill in all areas of life as well as most fields of industry. Maths has been a passion of mine since my school days where I managed to achieve an A at A-level in one year. My focus was mechanics and calculus but my teaching skills extend to all levels of from A-level below. My focus on teaching is to try and bring maths alive with the more fascinating ways in which different areas of maths can conjoin and impact the real world. Why are beehives hexagonal shaped for example? Why do spider webs mimic certain road maps? I've been a chess tutor as well as a maths tutor for some years and enjoy the process of teaching, having taught students as young as 5 all the way up to adults. Feel free to contact me whatever level you're at whether studying for an exam, or just curious to enhance your understanding!

Learn numbers, reading, and much more with Miss Sidra
I am a graduate in Economics, securing a first class honors, with straight As back in school. I have 6 years of tutoring experience, including teaching at schools too. My approach to teaching is more student centric, with the focus of individual needs of the student, not a general teaching style. Hence the practice work, strategy and ways are customised. There is no one size fits all. I do make sure however to be a friend of my students rather than a strict teacher, in a way that thye remember even after leaving. I love children since always and teaching fulfils me. I feel happy to see children learn, grow, and become more confident after bettering their skills. I hate to see students and give up simply due to lack of motivation from school.

The Building Blocks of Education for Future Scientists
This Class is designed for children aged 0-12 and will be tailored to fit the Level of education of each individual student. My background is in molecular medicine and I like to think I that scientists are the architects of what the future will look like and I believe its important to instill a love of science in children from an early age. I like to focus on biology in my classes as I believe its the building blocks for higher level science. I make my classes as interactive and interesting as possible as I think this is the best way to get children to engage and learn. The class will also include Aspects of Chemistry and Physics especially focusing on the fundamentals and using real life examples to better understand these. The class will include demonstrations and small scale Lab experiments as I think these can really get students excited and help them become emersed into the world of science.

GCSE/A-level Biology Tutoring. Includes help with homework, content review and study plans.
I recently completed my degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Edinburgh, where I graduated with upper Second Class Honours. I volunteered as a teaching assistant during my last two years of school, where I assisted GCSE and Year 1 A-level Biology teaching for two hours a week. At university, I was part of the Edinburgh University Biology Peer Assisted Learning Scheme, a student led group whose goal is to support first year students achieve their academic potential and ease their transit from high school to university life. I have been commended by teachers and pupils on my patience and ability to communicate with students of varying abilities. I reviewed A-level and GCSE Biology in depth during the past months as I was preparing for the BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT).

Italian, English (ESL), Spanish teaching and tutoring
Knowing a language nowadays has become extremely important. Our need to communicate and relate with the world has increased and so, in order to be able to feel confident with it, we need the right tools and methods. Have you ever been keen on one particular language and willing to learn it? Are you a student struggling to understand your teacher tasks and to get a good grade? Would you like to get better at English as a second language (speaking, writing, reading and listening)? I could be the answer to all these questions.
