Maths (Calculus & Algebra), Sciences and Languages tutoring school & university students - Baccalaureate, IB, Cambridge, EB
From 22 £ /h
Welcome to my tutoring classes, where curiosity is taken seriously and every student is met exactly where they are. I offer tutoring in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, general Sciences, and academic English, taught by a chemist and biologist who holds two Master's degrees and has spent more than fifteen years inside university science — as a researcher, and as a Graduate Assistant and Instructor.
My teaching philosophy revolves around a step-by-step approach: nothing moves forward until the concept underneath it holds. I teach science and mathematics the way they actually work — through real experiments, worked examples, and drawings — rather than as lists of facts and formulas to memorise, because understanding that you can reason your way to an answer is what makes a subject stop being frightening.
My own path shows what patient teaching makes possible. I have stood on both sides of the laboratory bench: preparing reagents and unknowns, running teaching labs, and guiding undergraduates through the exact experiments and calculations that once confused me. That experience taught me that struggling with chemistry, biology, or maths is almost never about ability — it is about a missing link nobody stopped to explain.
During my lessons I create a calm, supportive environment and adapt to each student's needs, whether that means rebuilding a shaky foundation, sharpening exam technique, or learning how to read a question properly. My commitment goes beyond grades: I want students to leave a session feeling capable rather than rescued.
Join me on this journey, whether you are a school student meeting chemistry or algebra for the first time, a candidate preparing for official or university entrance exams, or a university student working through general and analytical chemistry, quantitative problem-solving, or scientific writing. Tell me the subject, the level, and your deadline, and we will build the plan around it.

About Me
I'm your versatile tutor. I teach because explaining something well is the most useful thing I know how to do — the moment a student's face changes from confusion to recognition is genuinely the best part of my week. My own fascination is with patterns: my Master's research followed the rhythmic bands that cobalt hydroxide forms as it moves through a gel, which is chemistry behaving almost like art. Two Master's degrees later, in Chemistry and in Biology, I still find that the sciences offer the clearest windows we have into how the world assembles itself.
Beyond tutoring, I founded and host Café Scientifique Beirut, a monthly public science evening in a coffee shop where university researchers explain their work to anyone curious enough to show up. I handle everything — finding the speakers, designing the posters, running the social media, and hosting the night itself. It has taught me more about explaining difficult ideas simply than any course ever did.
Language is my other love. I work in English and Arabic, and I write and teach Arabic grammar and literature alongside the sciences, which keeps me attentive to how much of learning is really about precision in words. A student who cannot phrase the question yet cannot solve the problem yet either.
I would be delighted to guide you on this learning journey. My approach builds curiosity, structure, and confidence, so that you stop relying on someone to rescue you and start trusting your own reasoning.
Feel free to ask me anything — I am always happy to answer questions before we begin :)
