About Me
• I’m a 19 year old nursing student in Nottingham but I am based in London originally, so I may be a bit younger than proper teachers you will find but I have 5+ years experience when dealing with young children and about 2-3 years experience with tutoring professionally!
• I make my own PowerPoints to go through with the students and I make them really fun and engaging (not a blank white screen with words plastered on it!)
• Some of my methods are borrowed from my own teachers which I find worked for me when I was in school and my other tutees e.g. active recall activities, starters and plenaries, pop quizzes, pre and post knowledge tests, etc. which have helped myself and them to achieve top grades in various subjects.
• I love teaching different types of children and can tailor my classes and teaching so that it will suit your child’s specific needs. I find that it is essential to give the confidence to succeed by teaching complex topics in a simple way.
• From feedback forms, I’ve learnt that most students enjoy our sessions because they say I’m like “a big sister” but I know how to get down to business when necessary!
• I welcome feedback from both parents and students as I believe that is what can make this process easier as students won’t want to learn from someone that won’t listen to them and take their ideas onboard when it’s needed. I also give feedback to students to really take them to the next level in their learning because I want everyone to succeed!!
