As an experienced saxophonist I like to pass on my knowledge in an adapted, easy way. From the beginning, the focus is on what you want to learn to play yourself. If you do not yet have solfège knowledge, this will be learned while playing the saxophone.

In terms of difficulty, I have experience with all levels of saxophonists ranging from young children to retirees who still want to fulfill their dream as a musician. With one it goes a little more smoothly than with the other, but on average you can easily play a first song in less than a month.

Lessons can be scheduled very flexibly. Would you like a lesson every week, or perhaps a monthly refresher? That's possible! We'll coordinate our schedules. Would you prefer a half-hour, 45-minute, or an hour-long lesson? That's also possible. I also have an extensive music library available for you to use. Your own books, works, CDs, or suggestions are also welcome!

Location: at my home after work hours/weekends. Melle area, easily accessible by car, bus, or train (Kwatrecht station).

In the singing lessons we will work with your own voice! We investigate where your points of improvement lie and what you are already good at.

Are you a beginner? Then we focus on a basic formation of singing technique in combination with singing songs that you like to sing.

Are you an experienced singer before? Then we go a little deeper into vocal technique by looking at where the difficulties lie for your voice with challenging songs. We get started with the songs you like to sing.

If you prefer solfège or a combination of the two, that is certainly possible too!

I myself have been working for 4 years in a private music school where I give singing and piano lessons. I have a bachelor's degree in musical education and study jazz singing at the conservatory of Leuven.

When you are writing music, it is very important that you show your music to people. Someone with experience in composition, even better. It is sometimes difficult to take that step to show your pieces that you have worked hard on. But this is a very important step, it makes you more confident in your own piece. From then on, people can receive feedback and evolve further. In my lessons, I work mainly on structure and learning to compose. If necessary, I will also work on details, but first the idea and the form have to be right. Composing is an evolution and I myself am getting better every year.

To compose better, thorough music theory is also important. Just as you can express yourself better with more vocabulary, you can write better music and translate your idea into notes better with more music knowledge. The importance of this is often underestimated. For me, music theory (all the basic knowledge but especially harmony and counterpoint) go hand in hand.
