Emerging as one of the most remarkable young musicians from Latin America and known for his profound artistic poetry, flawless technique and charismatic performances, Rodolfo Rodolfo has performed to critical and audiences acclaim in three continents.
After a highly regarded debut with the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico in 2003, Mr. Rodolfo started a vibrant career that has taken him to perform as a soloist at the Salon d´Honeur of Les Invalides in Paris, Liszt house in Weimar, the Konzerthuset in Copenhagen, Palacio de Bellas Artes and Sala Nezahualcóyotl in México, to tour through northern Italy with the Orchestra Strumentale Italiana, alongside the recording and coordination of the acclaimed first anthology of Mexican concertante and symphonic music to be recorded internationally. Mr.Rodolfo is fully commited to discover neglected works from master composers from the past in order to perform and record numerous world premieres altogether with the performance of frequent or standard repertoire. The last CD devoted to the great Russian-Swiss composer Paul Juon and launched on 2017 has received much praise and was recently included in the TopTen Recordings by Toccata Classics on Spotify.
Rodolfo has also performed extensively in Spain, United States, Austria, Germany, Denmark, Israel, Canada, Cuba, Ecuador and Mexico among other countries.
Winner of the gold medal and first prize in the “Angelica Morales National Piano Competition” in 2003, one of the most renowned competitions in Latin America, the only pianist in the history of the competition to include all the special prizes for the compulsory works. In the same year he was also recipient of the third prize at the First International Piano Competition Parnassos 2003 including the special prize by the audience.
Mr.Rodolfo performances with orchestra includes a vast repertoire ranging from the complete piano concerti by Brahms, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Béla Bartók to romantic, modern and contemporary lesser known works like Xaver Scharwenka´s Piano Concerto Op.38, Martinú Double Concerto for two string orchestras, piano and timpani or Stravinsky Concerto for piano and wind instruments and the premiere of works dedicated to him: Valses Románticos by Gustavo Morales and Concerto for piano and orchestra “ La Luna y la Muerte”- compulsory work for piano competitors in the Final Round at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition in Bruxeles- by Miguel Galvéz-Taroncher, the composer winner of the Queen Elisabeth Composition Competition in 2007.
