Private lessons of classical guitar, folk, electric body and archtop jazz
From 37.48 £ /h
Hello,
I am a specialized composer guitarist (classical, folk dreadnote, electric bodies and jazz) and guitar teacher in Nantes and around (St Nazaire).
Course location: At home or at the student's place (to be assessed together).
I am a self-taught musician with more than 25 years of experience (national and various scenes as well as studio guitarist). This course adapts to the demand to the extent of the student's involvement (all levels).
- Approach and installation of pieces of the student's choice (International variety, folk, rock, jazz ...).
- Installation of rock or Blues riffs.
- Method of learning the neck: Octaves/ The major scale applied to 15 tones by succession of ascending fourths and descending fifths or cycle of fifths/ complete cycle of the order of flats and sharps.
- Work on scales: Pentatonic, Arpeggios (intervals)/modes, scales with limited transpositions (chromatic, unitonic, symmetrical).
- Work with metronome (different uses) = for non-beginner students.
- Introduction to music theory and development.
- Initiation and work on classical works (ancient and contemporary music).
- Discovery of Jazz and contemporary standards.
- Work in classic position with “Ergoplay” (recommended).
I am particularly attached to trying to untie what prevents the student from playing or developing. I am therefore used to preparing my lessons with personal work on the elevation of the state of life so as to be able to encompass that of the student and open together new capacities or perspectives of reciprocal listening. The development of the ear goes through a certain personal introspection that I try to awaken. In conclusion, what matters most to me is that the student leaves the course happier than at the beginning. Making you want to, targeted personal encouragement... Creation of values = development :)

About Me
I was initiated from an early age by my mother, a pianist (student of Marcel Ciampi) and amateur lyric singer (OPPL of Nantes) and choir singing...I learned music theory with her and at the conservatory for 3 years. I could not access an instrument at the time because too many staff. At the age of 12 I started with percussion and drums then at 16, I started the guitar.
"Self-taught" I did not acquire diplomas but followed many private lessons with various teachers in France. I became a professional fairly young and was mainly intermittent entertainment in France for works councils (vacation centers CCAS, VVF, VACANCIEL, RENOUVEAU, C.BARRIERE...) for about fifteen years.
Since 2003, I have varied the pleasures by taking a little distance, not with the job, but with the status of intermittent who no longer seemed to me related to my motivations. I preferred to dig my furrow in the shade and bring out new arrangements.
I am passionate about contemporary jazz (ECM, ACT, Blue note...), 70's and 80's rock, New acoustic folk... and continue to develop my system of harmony and improvisation.

Experience / Qualifications
I have been giving lessons for more than fifteen years... I have had the chance to train more than a hundred beginners to advanced students of all ages and all influences. I am not particularly focused on diplomas but on personal development. So far, the feedback I have had on my courses has been quite varied. For the more autonomous, I am happy to see that they have acquired the ability to play in a group or to dare to jam with elders.
- Since the end of the 80s I have participated in many groups in the Nantes, Limoges and Quimper region: (Elouard band, les Raoules, Marquis de RÈGES, Adelma, Joël Barret, Aquarium ... etc ...)
- I was a studio guitarist for ten years (airtight garage) in Nantes.
- I co-produced and composed the final version of the Marquis de RÈGES project with Maxime Goetz (soundcloud recordings)
- I co-created with Nathalie Pajot and Alain Elouard and interpreted the children's story show "Pince-mi tomb à l'eau".
- I composed the first part of the opera blues "Octopus" by the author Alain Elouard (standby project)
- in March 2019 I joined the NO COMMENT trio (Gainsbourg tribute) as a bass player and guitarist as well as a chorister ... the project is moving towards composition and I am currently working on new songs.
