The Cozy English Conversation Club: Speak with Confidence! (90 Mins)
Have you spent months or years studying English grammar, but still feel incredibly shy when it's time to actually speak?
If you are a high-intermediate (A2–B1) learner who can understand English but freezes up during conversations, you do not need more boring worksheets. You just need a safe, welcoming space to practice without the fear of making mistakes!
This weekly, 90-minute Conversation Club is a relaxed, friendly circle designed specifically for adults who want to turn their "passive" English knowledge into real, spoken confidence.
Why You Will Love This Club:
Absolutely No Pressure: This is not a class. There are no textbooks, no rigid grammar drills, and no stressful tests. It’s simply a club where you get to speak!
No Speaking Anxiety: To help you feel completely ready, you will get a friendly topic sheet and a few helpful vocabulary words before we meet. You will always have something fun to share.
Real, Flowing Conversations: We start with guided questions, but it is completely okay if our conversations drift off-topic! We talk about real life, hobbies, and diverse experiences—just like hanging out with friends.
Warm and Intimate: You will never be lost in a crowd. If our group grows, we smoothly split into smaller, cozy breakout rooms so everyone gets plenty of relaxed talking time.
How I Help You Grow:
As your friendly club host and tutor, I listen quietly while you chat. I make gentle notes of common mistakes and creative ways to upgrade your phrasing, sharing them with the group at the end. It’s a supportive, judgment-free way for everyone to learn together!
Stop letting shyness hold you back from enjoying English. Send me a quick message today to see what topic we are chatting about this week!
Our English Speaking Club currently runs on Saturdays from 8:00pm - 9:30pm (Pacific Standard Time).
We have a maximum of 6 students.
If demand is high enough, I can open a new speaking club on another day and time.

About Me
I am a Canadian born teacher with more than 20 years of experience with tutoring and teaching. I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science Degree and minor in Arts and later earned my TESOL certification and Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching and Learning from RMIT University.
My analytical and problem solving skills may have made me a fit for my Biology major, but a chance request to tutor a colleague's family, newcomers to Canada, opened a door to teaching that I found rewarding.
More than 20 years onward, I moved from teaching General English and Business English to holiday makers in Canada, to English for Academic Purposes and IELTS to college students in China and Vietnam, and Conversational English host in Russia.
I love seeing my students grow and reach their goals. I enjoy working with students who are committed and goal-oriented, learners who have an earnest desire to improve. Perhaps this is why in recent years, I transitioned from being an IELTS examiner to an Academic English coach for students preparing to move abroad for work.
These days, I tutor middle school learners and IB students online, IELTS candidates trying to move past Band 6/6.5 to band 7, and newcomers to Canada.

Is your child attending an international school or an IB program, but struggling to keep up with the fast-paced academic English?
Many bright students who transition into international or English-medium schools face a hidden hurdle: while they can hold a casual conversation, they are missing the foundational building blocks of academic English. Gaps in complex grammar, punctuation rules, and subject-specific vocabulary can quickly cause them to fall behind their classmates in reading and writing.
This premium, 60-minute private session is designed specifically to find those gaps and fill them. I specialize in helping middle school students catch up to the rigorous language standards required by their international school curriculums.
How We Bridge the Gap:
The Reading-to-Writing Loop: Using structured, age-appropriate academic texts, we break down how sentences are built. Your child will practice turning passive reading into precise, grammatically correct written sentences.
Safe, Low-Stakes Practice: We use our time to practice the exact types of academic speaking and writing tasks they face in school, building their confidence so they can participate fearlessly in class.
The Academic Outcome:
This is dedicated, supportive space where your child can safely clear up confusion, ask questions, and build the rock-solid linguistic foundation they need to thrive alongside their native-speaking peers.
Space is limited to ensure dedicated focus for every student. Send a message today to discuss your child’s current school curriculum and needs!
