There is not a better time to study the piano! Experienced, dedicated, and fun instruction for your goals at the instrument.
I am a University music professor, now based in Østerbro, Copenhagen, with 20 years of experience teaching across Canada and the United States.

My students work in classical and popular styles, toward goals of examination preparations, university and conservatory acceptances, as well as learning a specific style or set of pieces, or simply for life enrichment. Music is the ultimate way to communicate and to express, and it is my goal for my students to equip themselves to do just that.

Lessons are taught at my home in Østerbro or online.

As a teacher of certificate programs for twenty years, and with over 5 years teaching at the college level to undergraduate and graduate students, my skillset is constantly developing.

Available to teach at all levels for piano, music theory and history lessons, as well as tutoring for conservatory music courses.

About Me
It is my goal to equip my students with the tools they need to become independent, curious learners. Working with an individualized approach, each student helps to set goals, and I provide structures, tools, and motivate to achieve those goals.

I have been teaching for over 20 years, and love my work! Teaching is a joyful experience- being a part of the process of discovery is one of my favorite parts of my work. My students are prizewinners and hobbyists; late bloomers, young starts, and everything in between. What we all have in common is a love of music and of learning.

I have founded music schools, worked in private lesson settings, and worked for several years as a professor at an American university teaching all levels. My own work includes a concert schedule of solo and group performances all over the world; I make music videos and documentaries, paint, and am an avid lover of art, design, and beautiful plants!

My experience as a musician crosses genres, styles, disciplines.... and I love my work. There is nothing more rewarding than sharing the thrill of music with others- especially my students.

Hej! My name is Steaph, I am a harpist from Scotland. I have lived in Copenhagen for 4 years.

I am an experienced and professional musician, and a passionate teacher. I am happy to teach students of any age (6+) and anybody from absolute beginners, to advanced students. Being from Scotland, where the lever harp is a traditional instrument, I have a lot of experience with celtic and folk music. I am a professional classical musician in Copenhagen, but I also have a passion for arranging and performing pop music!

So please write to me with the pieces you dream of playing - I would love to help you work towards these goals!

QUALIFICATIONS

Master of Music The Royal Danish Academy of Music- 2023 (Harp)

1st Class Bachelor of Music with Honors- 2017 (Royal Northern College of Music)

What to expect from my lessons:

I believe that everybody has the ability to play music and I can help you improve your confidence with my positive and encouraging attitude! This includes everybody from absolute beginners who have never performed in front of anybody. I like to provide a fun and relaxed atmosphere for my students to be able to play to the best of their ability.

I can help you develop a healthy technique: every student I have is different therefore I introduce exercises for each of my students according to their abilities and goals.

I love to help students with the interpretation and performance of different pieces in any genre.

I can help you to create a practice plan that is unique to your needs, time and goals.

Hi there!

My name is Darius , I am from Germany and I am studying my Master's at the Rythmic Music Conservatory in "Music Performance".

I've been playing the piano since the age of 5 years and I started teaching when I was 14 years old. I have experience teaching all levels, including young childres (>6) and adults of all age - teaching privately and in music schools ever since.

I can offer basic to intermediate teaching in classical related and pop related piano / keyboards. Having a jazz background myself I can offer jazz lessons from basic to expert which might include preparing for auditions. I am very open to the interests of my students, but my only requirement is to take some time for people call "practising" - or just making yourself a nice time with music :)

I also offer other music related teaching in music theory, "ear training", production etc. on all levels.

I believe that we should do stuff that you're interested in. Maybe you'd like to learn this beautiful classical piano piece? Or you would like to play jazz piano? Or you'd like to accompany yourself on the piano? Anything is possible :)

I also believe that lessons should not be work that you need to do or be good at... For me it's all about fun, creativity, imagination, and taking a break, relaxing, expressing, listening, experiencing, getting more sensitive.. enjoying music both listening to it and playing it yourself :)

If you're interested, you can listen to my music in my hiphop/jazz band "Bokoya"!

Lessons would take place at Rythmic Music Conservatory in Holmen (Bus 2A from Christianshavn) or (within a reach of 1052) in your home. Timing is pretty flexible. Let's meet each other :) Looking forward to hearing from you!
