I can teach both composition and music theory at all levels. As part of my practice use many elements of music technology to produce my own music and as such can teach many programs including Sibelius, Musescore, Logic Pro X, Final Cut Pro.

About Me

Freddie is a composer based in South London. His music has been performed in the UK on BBC Radio 3 and by several professional ensembles including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia, and Oxford Philharmonic. He has also received premieres abroad in Palestine, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. In November 2017, Freddie conducted the premiere of his first opera A Sketch of Slow Time. The 90-minute, one act work, traces the affair of Mathilde Schönberg (wife of the composer Arnold Schönberg) with the artist Richard Gerstl and the tragic events that unfold.

The visual arts have played a substantial inspiration for much of Freddie’s recent work. Atlas for large symphony orchestra that was premiered in September 2019, imagines music as sonic sculpture. Rather that creating a sounding narrative that progresses through time, the piece creates an objective depiction of the mythological titan Atlas, viewing him from different angles and perspectives.

More practically, Freddie’s music over the past year has developed alongside visual art as part a growing collaboration with artist Rachel Gadsden. The duo have now created several performance pieces that combine live painting and music. Much of the score is constructed using structured improvisation and as such, the music is able to respond to the art being created, while the art can respond to the sounds. These works are a fusion of both mediums, co-mingling sight with music and sound with space. Three of these pieces, All at Sea, Ships of the Desert, and Displaced Voices, were created in as part of Narrative of Displacement, a University of Birmingham led project, working with refugees from both Syria and Iraq. These pieces were scored for a mix of western and Arabic instruments and included London based Syrian Oud player Rihab Azar and Syrian percussionist Jamal Al-sakka.

Freddie graduated with a BA (Hons.) in music from St Hilda’s College, Oxford, studying composition with Martyn Harry. He is currently completing an MMus in composition at the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Morgan Hayes. Freddie has had lessons with composers based in both the UK and abroad including Hans Abrahamsen, Tansy Davies, Rolf Wallin, Huw Watkins, and Anna Meredith.

About me

I help students start playing real music early—often within the first few lessons.

I’m a professional pianist with 12+ years of teaching experience and over 7 years of international performing (Switzerland, Austria, Iceland, Spain, and worldwide on luxury cruise ships).

Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning after a break, I tailor each lesson to your goals so you can progress efficiently and enjoy the process.

I started piano at age 6 and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Piano Performance. I’ve also taken part in many masterclasses and studied with outstanding pianists. My background includes classical, jazz, blues, pop, rock, and chord-based playing.

I’m passionate about teaching and focused on helping you reach your goals in a clear, supportive, and enjoyable way.

About the Lesson

I am a patient and dedicated piano teacher, working with students of all ages and levels. Every lesson is tailored to your goals, learning style, and musical interests.

I teach a wide range of styles, from classical to modern music (jazz, blues, pop, etc.).

I can teach you reading sheet music or playing by ear, depending on your preference and goals. I can also help you improvise and create your own music in the styles you enjoy.

I also have strong experience working with students with ADHD and dyslexia, adapting lessons to make learning clear, structured, and engaging.

I focus on healthy technique, musicality, and effective practice habits to build confidence and avoid tension or injury. I also help students develop a technique that prevents common issues such as tendonitis, which is very important for long-term playing. You’ll also receive support outside lessons, including answers, feedback, and video explanations when needed.

I prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity exams (Grades 1–8 and Diplomas), but I also teach students who simply want to enjoy playing. My students range from age 3 to 75+, and all make meaningful progress.

Online lessons are just as effective as in-person ones. I use a professional multi-camera setup and high-quality audio so you can clearly see technique and movement. Most of my lessons (95%+) are taught online.

Curriculum

There is no single method that fits everyone, so I adapt all materials to you.

For beginners, I often use Alfred’s Basic Piano Library. For classical and jazz development, I work with ABRSM and Trinity syllabi. I’m always happy to use other methods if you prefer.

Alongside structured materials, I include music you enjoy and focus on essential skills that apply across all styles—from classical to modern music.

I offer fully online piano lessons in English for teenagers and adults who want thoughtful, structured and serious musical training.

My teaching is rooted in the Russian academic piano tradition, but the lessons are not limited to a narrow repertoire path. We can work with classical pieces or other music that is meaningful to the student — including modern, film, anime or jazz-oriented material — as long as the work remains serious, attentive and musically thoughtful.

In my lessons, technique, reading, coordination, sound, rhythm, phrasing, memory and expression are connected into one clear musical system. The aim is not only to learn pieces, but to understand how music works from inside: how the ear, mind, hands, body and musical intention come together.

I work best with motivated students: serious teenagers, advanced amateurs, returning adults, and learners preparing demanding repertoire, auditions or international exams, including ABRSM. In every case, the focus is on building a complete musical foundation: technique, sound, understanding, expression and confident independent practice.

I am a concert pianist and piano educator with more than 20 years of teaching experience. I studied at the Moscow Conservatory College and the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, taught at university level, performed internationally and recorded two CDs for Melodiya.

The lessons are structured, precise and demanding, but clear and respectful. My aim is to help each student not only play better, but understand music more deeply and gradually become more independent, intelligent and artistic at the piano.

Hello! My name is Cristóbal, a Spanish flautist passionate about music and teaching it.

I offer flute, piccolo and traverso lessons for all levels. I particularly enjoy guiding each student on their musical journey, adapting to their needs and goals.

I have had the opportunity to work with students of all ages (from 5 to 68) and all levels, from beginners to those preparing for conservatory entrance exams. I have taught in music schools as well as privately in Spain, France, and Switzerland.

This diversity of experience allows me to easily adapt to each student and to offer personalized support, according to their objectives, level and learning pace.

After completing my Bachelor's degree in Zaragoza, Spain, I continued my studies at the Strasbourg Conservatory in Raquel Magalhães' class, where I was awarded a distinction. I then obtained a Master's degree in Performance from the Geneva University of Music in Jacques Zoon's class.

Currently, I am pursuing a Master's degree in traverso with Johanna Bartz, as well as a Master's degree in piccolo at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp with Peter Verhoyen.

This dual specialization allows me to approach the flute family in its stylistic richness, from the modern repertoire to the baroque.
