Bach Chorales, the bane of any music student!

I specialise in tutoring music for students taking GCSE and/or A-level, having studied and taken my GCSE and A-Levels through the AQA Exam specification (and taking Harmony Studies at University). My aim is to help students calm and help them to see past the convolution of Bach Chorales and eventually see the value they will have for their musicianship in their future.

In this class, you will be able to understand the basics of western harmony and how it evolved into classical pieces through from Mozart & Chopin to Hans Zimmer and Charlie Puth!

This class is also designed to help students who may be struggling or want to better understand 4 part harmony and how to write better chorales to secure their Music A-Level requirements!

You will learn a variety of composition techniques to reduce the amount of stress it takes to try and solve the rubix cube that is a Bach Chorale, and also learn how to apply what is learned into further composition, should that be the goal! Don't worry if you are just starting out, I can help you take out the daunting part, and show you how useful these skills will be for you as a musician!

Composition is one of most exam boards requirements for GCSE and A-level Music. In particular, to write a piece ranging from 2 - 3 minutes in length for either solo or chamber groups of instruments.

I am majoring in composition at university and I specialise in tutoring music for students taking GCSE and/or A-level, having studied and taken these A-levels through the AQA Exam specification. Composition may appear overwhelming and it is my aim that my students will be able to find the beauty in writing music and being able to cope with the stresses of writing music; by equipping them with both the necessary skills of writing music, but also how to push through the various challenges that come with it (And perhaps most importantly, how to achieve excellent marks for your coursework)!

If you also want to know simply how to write a piece of classical music, write a song or even if you're just starting out in writing music, you've come to the right place! Let's get you writing some music!
