My courses are aimed at beginners wishing to get started in computer music, intermediates wishing to consolidate their knowledge and more advanced people wishing to refine their technique! Classes take place in my fully equipped professional home studio in the center of Bordeaux. I can also come to your home and give video lessons. If you are learning how to play it, I have the gear to help you create and record a song, so you can share it with your friends and family, or just have it for yourself. I can play a lot of instruments and create tracks to accompany you. You can write a song or make a recording of you playing something you are working on. Depending on your level and experience with music, it would be a great way to learn some music theory too. I am Julia, a professional musician originally from Montreal, Canada. I have lived in the Netherlands for 4 years and have a Master's degree in Music. I compose, engineer, and perform music. I also love to teach, I have experience with ages 9 to 90. He or She will always be teaching you, so no worries, there won't be changes all the time. On our first class we will show you a bit how we work and our virtual platform so you can access to a private profile to check your weekly notes from your teacher, videos and other content that shall be relevant to you. Of course, there will also be some piano played involved ;) The rest of the lessons will be planned based on your time. We will focus on what you are able to do with the time you have got. No need to stress or to rush, we want you to progress at your own pace. Classes can be held on a weekly basis, but we also accept free scheduling classes by the student's availability. Pedagogically based on Montessori, learning by collaboration and self motivation. - Piano: no matter the style or the level - Improvisation and Composition: for curious and creative minds -Preparation to official exams such as Trinity and ABRSM: these exams take place in official examination centers in several parts of the world, but are also held online. They are highly recognized throughout the globe. - Preparation to musical competitions -> Online classes: how and why? Our classes take place by several platforms as Google Meet or Skype, but if you feel more comfortable with others we are also open to suggestions. Our Professional Studios are set with 2 video cameras, so you can see us perfectly and also hear us perfectly with a studio microphone. Do not worry about your settings, as long as you have a stable connection this is all what we need. Why online classes? We think online classes are a valid asset for the future. Students learn comfortably from their homes and the education that they receive is proved to have the same validity as in person lessons, if performed with the right means and the right method, obviously! This is what we have been researching and testing for the past 5 years. The private “composition classes/music writing & music theory lessons” are held for students of all levels and ages including beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. There are also lessons available that are suited for: Students who are preparing for an entrance exam to the conservatories. Music students who are in higher education systems (Bachelor or Master). Location: Music classes are held at the student's home in Brussels or online via webcam. Prices of music lessons in Brussels or online (TVA and social security contributions are included). We will take your ideas and with the composition tools we will shape your works. Working on structure, form, harmony, melody construction and orchestration. Ideal for musicians who want tools to make their own songs.

I have previously taught students ranging from children to elders, in various guitar styles including jazz, rock and pop. I worked as a Core Music Tutor at Berklee College of Music, where I provided individual, hourly tutoring sessions. During the class time I assisted the students in completing coursework and projects in subjects like Fundamentals of Ear Training, Music Fundamentals, Music Application and Theory, Harmony 2-4, Ear Training 1-4, Solfege 1-2, Arranging 1-2, Tonal Harmony and Composition 1-2, Art of Counterpoint, and Conducting 1. During this job I got certified by the College Reading and Learning Association through trainings offered in the program. I would describe my teaching philosophy as organic and holistic. I believe that with unlimited content at their fingertips, people today tend to be overwhelmed by the amount of information, whereas I consider it should be a mix between knowledge and perceptual approach. I understand the student needs its own time to digest knowledge and incorporate it.
