About Me
Hi!
My name is Amanda, and I’ve been a professional singer for over 10 years. My vocal journey began at the age of 7 with lessons, and let me tell you—almost no one starts out sounding like Christina Aguilera (except Christina herself!). But with practice, dedication, and the right techniques, amazing progress is possible.
I began my music education in Latvia, attending music school where I studied piano, music theory, and history, and received private vocal lessons starting at age 11. I participated in numerous vocal competitions, including Latvia’s version of Britain’s Got Talent, and even represented Latvia at Junior Eurovision.
After high school and countless vocal competitions, I wasn’t quite sure where to take my passion for music. That’s when I decided to move to the UK to study Performance and Production. This decision opened so many doors for me. At university, I learned everything a modern musician or artist needs to know, from A to Z, about creating music. I also had the opportunity to meet incredible people, and together we formed a band called BASH!
With BASH!, we quickly gained attention, including support from BBC Introducing. We recorded at legendary studios like Abbey Road and Maida Vale, opened the main stage at Larmer Tree Festival, played the Isle of Wight Festival, and had our music featured on Spotify editorial playlists. We even had songs placed on Made in Chelsea!
In 2021, we became an independent band, parting ways with our label to take full creative control of our project. If you’re curious about how to start your own artist journey, I’d be happy to share some tips! Around the same time, I launched another music project in Latvia called ELPO, creating on electronic dance music in Latvian. We collaborated remotely during the pandemic, sharing projects online. If it weren’t for the audio technology skills I learned in university, I wouldn’t have been able to make that project a reality. This is why knowing how to record yourself and use a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) is so important—it can open countless doors.
And that’s me in a nutshell! I still sing and work on developing my technique (it’s a lifelong process), write and release music with my band, and explore new creative projects. I’d love to share some of the knowledge I’ve gained over the years with you.
