Music production and recording technology may seem complicated at first glance, but in our 1-on-1 private lessons we can discuss the creative and technical tools you need to unleash your own creativity. Whether it's songwriting, recording techniques or beat making, we can do it all together. All genres are welcome. During the lessons we can learn to work with different programs, such as Logic, Pro Tools or Ableton. The lessons are for students of all ages and levels. Knowledge of solfège is not required. I studied guitar and music production at the Conservatory in Ghent and have been active as a professional musician for several years. I have 12 years of experience as a private teacher. I'm a certified sound engineer and I have prepared a course for beginners and early intermediates, who want to dive into the world of music production. I got my bachelor's degree in Music Technology and Acoustics at the Hellenic Mediterranean University. I squeezed out the most useful and meaningful knowledge of a four year curriculum into a 3 month course to help young people save precious time. Ableton Live and Logic Pro are two of the most widely used tools for creating music on a computer. I designed these courses to teach you the basics of DAW (Digital Audio Workstation): an overview of the necessary equipment, multitrack recording methods, the use of real and virtual instruments, creating rhythms and beats, adding sound effects, and final mixing. I also offer an introduction to synthesis (i.e., the use of synthesizers) for electronic music composition, as well as an introduction to an AKAI MPC. But first and foremost, how can you have fun while letting your creativity flow, whatever your style of music! I have been using DAW software for over 20 years (Cubase, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Reason, etc.) and adapt my courses according to the needs and levels of my students. Logic Pro X is the most used DAW right now. It can be challenging for musicians or aspiring music producers to get the hang of it as usually the basics of audio mixing and production are not understood well, and so it gets in the way of songwriting ending up being frustrating! Whether you are using Logic Pro X, or any other DAW I can teach you the basics of recording vocals and other instruments, the essentials about understanding signal chains and how to use compressors equalisers as well as reverbs and delays, how to mix and master. I teach in my home studio in Battersea in Logic Pro X, but if you use any other DAW you are welcome to bring your own laptop so you can learn how to use your own equipment in the most efficient way! Alternatively I can teach via Zoom.

Audio recording if done in right manner and with right mic-ing techniques will not depend merely on post production for it's enhancement. This consists of closed mic-ing and open mic-ing, where to use different aspects and how to apply them. For example using small diaphragm microphones for snare and larger ones for vocals. These sessions will explore musical composition techniques used in popular and contemporary music. The focus will be on deconstructing different works, exploring what their musical elements are and investigating what commonality these have across the boundaries of genre or instrumentation. Students will have experience of composing original musical elements and arranging these elements into complete compositions.

Welcome, I am a singing teacher, a student of lyrical singing at the Geneva Conservatory of Music since the age of nine and of modern singing at the Institute of Complete Vocal Education in Geneva since 2009. I offer private and group lessons at home (between Geneva and Thonon). I can also welcome students to their homes in Veigy. I teach in English or in English. I guide the student through the initiation to singing and the establishment of reflexes essential to their practice. Generally speaking, these points include body/facial posture, breathing, accuracy, and rhythm.
