Dance is my passion and I believe in the power of movement. Ballet might be perceived as difficult and strict, but my teaching approach is making Ballet an expressive, fun, and accessible art form. My teaching is based on french technic, but as someone who traveled a lot due to my professional career, my teaching approach can be eclectic.
Therefore, I will structure my class especially for you, depending on your needs and your goals. No matter if you are looking for better posture, furthering your technic, preparing for an audition, or simply fulfilling a dream, I am here to share my passion, and help you become the best dancer you can be.
Get an extra advantage and choose to get your class in French (as a French native) if you'd like to further your level of the language.

Extra information

Have a space to hold on to for the barre exercises, and enough space to move for the center. I have taught a lot of classes online during the confinements, so I know how to adjust my exercises for small spaces.

About Me

I was born and raised in France but I traveled around the world to live for my passion. I've been dancing since age 4 and I was a professional Ballet dancer in Europe and in Canada for 16 years. I then became a coach for professional dancers and an artistic assistant for companies. However, it is important for me to connect this art form to everyone, so everywhere I was going, I opened my own classes for beginners and intermediates for all ages.
I recently relocated to London, and I am now a Full-Time student at Roehampton University to follow a Dance and Movement Psychotherapy Master Program. Always in the search of deepening my understanding of dance, I would like in the future to use this art form as a healing tool.

As a professional dancer and a rhythmic gymnast I have been stretching most of my life. Flexibility and mobility are crucial parts of exercises that should be considered daily in our lives. In my classes we will explore a variety of stretches and each day we will focus on different muscle groups to make sure we are not over-stretching but stretching enough to see quick results. After a few days/weeks you we be able to see and for sure feel a difference in your body.

Benefits of teaching in person is that I can analyse your flexibility more clearly and accurately, and can also correct you if needs be to make sure you are stretching the right muscles and avoid injuries.

My name is Vanessa and I am an actress, teacher and producer currently based in London, United Kingdom.

As well as training and performing within the Theatre industry since 2011, I have also taught art disciplines such as acting, singing and dance and dance fitness from the ages of 3 upwards. Some of my performance credits include, Motown The Musical, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Hairspray and Legally Blonde to name a few.

For those that have a keen passion for entering into the Theatre industry, I am able to use my experience to offer professional training across all disciplines and help equip them with tools needed to thrive as a performer.

Similarly, for those that enjoy the arts as an extra curricular hobby/space to express themselves creatively, I take pride in holding a creative self space to help my students to unlock self confidence, self belief and their broader imagination as well as strengthening skills such as teamwork, singing, dancing and acting.

I am able to hold online classes and work to an international timezone to reach all my students and for those based in London and prefer face to face lessons, I'm able to rent studios or arrange home visits where requested.

My main aim is for people to have access to a system of learning through which they can absorb and understand a practice that they could then bring with them wherever and whenever they want.
My way of teaching involves for the moment 17 different chapter, involving improvisation tools (Movement), theatre exercises, stretching and fitness.

My class explores a choreographic style of contemporary dance with clear influences from Cunningham technique and my recent expirience working with Jason Mabana. The work will challenge your coordination, rhythm, attention to detail and demostrate a contemporary application of classical teachnical forms, but all through explorative and original material.

The class is structured like any other technical class, each exercise desinged to methodicaly warm up and work the body, building on the previous exercises, before culminating in a longer choreography where we can pull everything together and just have a boogie.

I can tailor the work to each student however I would reccomend having some technical expirience, classical or contemporary.

I will find out what your goals are first and then curate a plan to reach those goals. No matter what level you are at or even if you've never danced before, I will be able to unlock your inner skills and make you feel more confident in your abilities.
