I love sharing knowledge, and I find that I have the aptitude for it. As a foreigner in Romania, I have had to learn the Romanian language to better communicate with my husband's family and our new friends since we moved here 3 years ago. It's daunting to learn a foreign language, especially as an adult. Since I've experienced that firsthand, I am able to relate to students learning English as a foreign language as well. Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:
