Hi I'm Ella!

I'm currently a student at Lancaster uni, studying German and philosophy. I am passionate about German, and language learning as a whole. Having been given the best introduction and experience to languages from my high school German teacher Frau Tyne, i aim to replicate her passion, energy, and care for her students. Without her, I would not be where I am now, as I am preparing for my year abroad in Germany as part of my degree. Therefore I have a personal tie to replicating this same impact on other young people. I believe when you put in the effort and have enjoyment in your studies, it shows in the grades. I can speak from experience, where I was tutored for maths during high school, once something was explained to me by a different teacher in a different way, only then was I able to see a positive change in my grades.

Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.
