About Me

I am a certified teacher from Vancouver, Canada.
I have worked internationally as an English Language Teacher and currently work with international and local students in Vancouver. I am passionate about creating dynamic lessons for my students to become engaged in their learning journeys and to strengthen their understanding of the English language. My areas of expertise include academic writing for high school and university students, as well as for IELTS purposes. I also have a breadth of experience in teaching the foundations of early literacy (phonics, reading, and writing).

Experience / Qualifications

With over 8 years of experience as an ESL teacher and tutor, I have had the privilege of working with students of all ages and backgrounds, helping them enhance their English language abilities. My teaching journey has taken me to diverse locations such as Seoul, South Korea, Madrid, Spain, and Australia, where I gained valuable insights into different cultures and teaching methodologies.

During my time in Seoul, I taught English as a Second Language to students of various age groups, ranging from young learners to adults. This experience allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by ESL learners and implement effective teaching strategies to address their specific needs.

In Madrid, I had the opportunity to work in a bilingual school, teaching English to students in the Primary and Intermediate levels. Upon relocating to Vancouver, I joined the West Vancouver school district, working as a primary and intermediate English and French teacher. Beyond my work in formal educational settings, I have also dedicated a significant portion of my career to one-on-one tutoring. Over the course of 8 years, I have worked closely with students of all ages, tailoring my teaching approach to meet their specific goals and learning styles. Whether it was helping young learners with basic language skills or assisting adults in advancing their English proficiency, I have always strived to create personalized learning experiences that foster growth and confidence.
