From 57.14 £ /h
Finding the right tutor can be a challenge. The tutor has to understand the goals that you and your adolescent strive for academically, be familiar with the subject and work together well with your child.
We will develop a plan of study together with your child, focus on areas in which your child is having difficulty with and work through challenging materials, homework or assignments and, help them develop the mindset to enable them to be independent by learning how to cope with stressful tasks in future, learn how to plan ahead and be comfortable opening up about gaps in their learning.
The subjects that I offer for children of this age are English, Mathematics and the Sciences.

About Me
I am an educator who specialises in bringing out the full potential for:
- Children with special, complex or challenging behaviours or needs from 5-18
- Students in lower, middle and upper school (primary and secondary) to have a broad or specific overview in regards to subjects, depending on their needs.
- Adult professionals and learners who need to familiarise themselves with business conversations, etiquette and situations, and obtain English scores for immigration, university entrance or any other life or professional endeavour.
- If you are seeking a coach to help you get a perfect score on the speaking section of the IELTS exam, look no further. Having scored a 9 on three separate occasions, I will decode this section for you.
My journey as an educator began as an English tutor for refugees and newly arrived immigrants at Frontier College in 2006 in Montreal, Canada. I worked together with adult students from a variety of ages, cultures and educational backgrounds on an individual basis and in-class settings.
‘Care for my learner and their needs’ is the comment made about my commitment at Frontier College, something that I impart on all of my learners.
In 2010, I provided varied classroom-based curriculum for children in the areas of public speaking, psychology, mental health, public health as an educator within local Singapore schools. The schools we worked with were delighted with the curricula that we built for them and provided excellent ratings.
I am also a qualified psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, which gives me an edge when working with individuals across the lifespan.
Here’s a brief introduction about myself. I am a citizen of Singapore. I speak three languages fluently, including English, French and Indonesian. I completed a BA and Postgraduate in Psychology in Montreal, Canada and Singapore, respectively. As I desired to tie in the best of both professional worlds, I fulfilled the requirement to be a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia while continuously updating myself as an educator. From my own educational experiences growing up in Singapore where I graduated from in the Australian School Singapore, I learned that the best teachers were the one’s that understood their students' behaviours in addition to their subject matter.
I entered into the educational world by a stroke of luck 12 years ago. At the time as a tutor, I was completing an undergraduate in psychology and economics in Canada. I started as a volunteer tutor and grew till I became an educator in areas of public speaking, drama, first aid, mental health, and public health amongst within the public school system in Singapore. Simultaneously, I continued my training as a psychologist and incorporated my skills into my role as an educator with cutting edge tools in Pedagogy. Nevertheless, from 2010 to 2014, I focused on being an educator teaching for the schools designated under the Ministry of Education.
To bring out the best in children, adolescents and adult learners and to see how mastery of a subject empowers them is my goal. It is an amazing feeling when a learner any background or age can be nurtured towards being driven to the path of mastery of a subject, with the right tools. It is equally amazing when you can lift a learner to having the level of confidence.
It is a privilege to be able to work with children, adolescents and adults alike. I am grateful for the trust that is given to me to guide each learner and also encourage each learner to trust their learning pace, their own intuition about their wants and needs. In the session, the learner comes first. Given my background as a psychologist, my teaching methods are supplemented by a recognition, understanding and the promotion of strengths in the individual child, adolescent or adult learner’s thought processes, behaviours, habits, cognitive processes and personality traits. An approach grounded in positive reinforcement where identifying and promoting the strengths of the learner is used. While my intuition, experience and background are crucial to guide the learner, in my experience, the most important outcome of any teaching assignment is for the learner, be it child or adult, to create his or her own new or unique learning strategies.
