Speaking about films provides an almost endless possibilities for conversation. This class will usually be well-versed in many country's films, customs, foods!We will focus on what students like best/least about friends. The exercise allow you to practice a number of areas: opinions, comparatives and superlatives, descriptive adjectives, and reported speech. Also, storytelling lessons, how to share a story, tell a narrative!

For pupils who are still at school, I make an overview of the progress, so that the parents and specialist teachers remain informed about the work that has been done.

The lessons can be given entirely in Dutch, or with explanations and translations in English where necessary (if the child speaks English). This class is for elementary-aged students who already have an excellent level of English. The core material is a novel which we read together. Each students gets at least one chance per lesson to read aloud for the class from the book. We also learn to sing one song per week and read one poem per week which is related to the story. Our current story is Kensuke's Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo and we just finished Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
