Hello everyone,

A bit about me first:

- I am a Master's graduate (I graduated in 2018 from Birkbeck University, London with a merit in MA Contemporary Literature and Culture).
- I'm fully TEFL qualified.
- I specialise in English tutoring, for native English students (I recently tutored a student for her GCSEs) or for students learning English as a second language (I have been living in Romania teaching ESL).
- I have experience of teaching all ages (from preschool to adults).
- I am a native speaker and have a very neutral, clear English accent.
- I am friendly and approachable.

What's my style of teaching?

My goal is to challenge my students to achieve their language goals but to always keep the lessons fun and fresh - I can adapt my lessons to students of any age and any ability. I am able to set weekly homework tasks and of course provide regular feedback and progress reports. I love language and I love learning and I am passionate about passing this onto my students. Adjusting lessons to suit your personal interests (it's always easier to learn English if you are interested in the topics) is something I am more than happy to do... so if superhero films are your thing, for example, we can have some lessons based around the films!

Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.

When it comes to the alphabet, words and sentences, it's more or less the same, but school pedagogy, school textbooks and regular lessons still follow the rote learning approach. In the lessons I propose, you will learn to use patterns because this is more efficient and faster.
