I offer piano and music theory lessons for students of all ages and skill levels. My lessons are designed not only to refine technique but also to bring out each student’s creativity and deepen their connection to music.
Many of my students have achieved highest results on ABRSM exams (distinctions), and won scholarships and awards in competitions. With over 12 years of teaching experience and a strong background in classical piano performance, I provide a tailored approach that meets students whichever level they are—whether they are just starting out or already at an advanced level!

The lessons take place in central Oslo, just a 5-minute walk from Oslo Central Station, on a beautiful Essex grand piano made by Steinway & Sons, which provides an inspiring sound and playing experience.
There is an optional student concert every year for those who wish to showcase their progress.

About Me

Originally from South Korea, I am a classically trained concert pianist and teacher based in Oslo. I studied piano at the Royal Academy of Music in London (BA) and Guildhall School of Music and Drama (MA), and later at the Norwegian Academy of Music (MA), where I also completed a Master’s in Music Theory.
With my performance background and over 15 years of teaching experience, I focus on nurturing well-rounded musicianship, tailoring lessons to each student’s strengths and goals. In our sessions, I emphasize foundational technique, musicality, and creativity.

This class is for anyone interested starting learning or gaining new insights to playing the violin. Depending on the student's final goal we adjust the repertoire and skills that are needed for obtaining the goal.

As a musician I am inspired by many styles of playing, with classical music and Scandinavian folk being my main focus.
My goal as a teacher is to keep and increase the students love for music as well as offer necessary and appropriate skills to keep the student challenged.

I am a freelance musician, performing with several orchestras across Europe.
I have recently finished my Masters Studies in KASK Conservatorium, Belgium and am currently living in Oslo.
Passion for music was the main vehicle that brought me to where I am now. But a big part of the origin of that passion came from the teachers I had contact with.

I specialize in tutoring classical, pop, jazz, improvised piano for people who are either interested in either music or piano. I also provide training for people who prepare for exams to enter music schools.

For beginners:
We will listen to various types of music, and I will provide various methods for you to find the most natural way to get familiar with the piano. By knowing what you want to hear, your body will do exactly what you want it to be. And that's our goal.

For intermediate:
We will expand your repertoire. The lesson will be customized by your needs, we will find the best way for you to learn more! If you have problems playing, we will solve it together too!

For advanced students:
We will find the most efficient and natural way for you to practice. And assign a periodic plan which fits you well and make sure that we will achieve your goal. I will also help you to see the music from different perspectives.

As a researcher I want to teach and enable you to perform music with the skills and abilities that any person has the opportunity to generate and discover in themselves.
My individual method is based on the knowledge and personal experience from European and American schools.
The learning process will be dynamic and subject-oriented, as I believe any process and especially the relationship with music should be individual. Individualism is a priority!
The repertoire will be planned to fit the individual student in all genres: classical/jazz/blues/pop/improvisation/modern classical music

The study includes both theoretical and practical parts, and we can do this at home with you or in my home.

My goal is to help you realise your desires. I will enable my students to express their emotions with music and art in general. Together and with systematic work we will be able to do everything.

The skills acquired from music will be useful in any field and at any stage in life; music has that magical and real ability to enhance human capabilities - theoretical as well as practical.

Private cello lessons for anyone interested in learning cello from the start or developing further and gaining new motivation. I focus on developing solid technique in a natural and healthy way, combined with musicality and enjoyment. Lessons may include note reading and playing together, but also playing by ear and improvisation for those interested. Repertoire is always tailored to the student’s goals, from classical and folk to jazz and popular music.
