Hello! My name is Olivia, and I am an American opera singer now based in Paris! I give 45 minute and hour voice lessons at a studio in Paris teaching all different styles of music to students of all ages and levels in both English and French. While I have extensively studied classical technique, I also have a performance certificate in musical theater and have recorded pop and country songs. I teach a classically based, healthy technique that can be applied to sing any style of music. I also teach the basic ear training, music history, and music theory to give students a greater appreciation for music! I specialize in beginners.

About Me

I strive to provide a professional yet friendly environment where students feel free to express themselves and find their true voice. My classical background has given me a very technical and detailed education, and consequently I am able to find healthy ways of singing virtually any style of music. Each student learns differently, and I continually search for new ways of explaining the technical aspects of singing while making the lessons fun. I work on goals with each student so we can track their progress together, and tailor each lesson to each student's wishes - be it general music appreciation, a desire to be able to sing for fun comfortably, or perform for their upcoming show. I generally devote a portion of each lesson to more general music education including basic music theory, music history, and ear training...all skills which both make the student a better musician and enrich their musical experience. I teach in French, German or English.

Maarten will give you the piano lessons. He can teach classical, and jazz piano. He graduated his studies in the conservatory of Amsterdam with prof. Jan Wijn and graduated with the highest score among piano students (Bachelor of Music, piano). He played several solo and chamber music concerts in concert hall, church, museum, library, hospital and elderly houses. He is regularly invited by Belgium Chamber music festival to play with famous musicians such as guitarist philip Catherine. Recently he graduated master degree in Brussels Conservatorium studying with prof. Boyan Vodenitcharov. Since he has a lot of knowledge of harmonization and counterpoints, he has composed and arranged many works and played many of his own pieces in concerts.

Asako will give the cello lessons. She has master degree, cello performance and chamber music, also has an academic university diploma for Musicology. She studied in Japan, Hungary (Franz Liszt Academy), Norway (Norway Academy of Music), and Netherlands (Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Utrecht Conservatoire).She can teach in Japanese, English and on a basic level in Hungarian and French. Asako can teach the cello for all levels and ages. Especially She is enthusiastic about teaching.

I am a young Italian professional cellist with 23 years of study and professional experience. I have been living in Paris for four and a half years. I earned a Bachelor's degree from the Turin Conservatory, then specialized in Baroque music in Paris, completing advanced studies at the Paris Conservatory, a Master's degree from the Versailles Conservatory, and a second Master's degree in Classical and Romantic music from the Saintes Conservatory (Abbaye aux Dames). I work with several renowned European early music ensembles such as Le Concert Spirituel, Accademia Bizantina, Les Ombres, and La Chimera. I was a semi-finalist in the prestigious MA Competition 2021 in Bruges. I also play modern music, and with my solo cello and electronic music project, I have had the opportunity to participate in major Italian festivals. In France, I regularly work with the French chanson trio Melquiades.

I offer cello lessons for all levels and all styles (classical cello, baroque cello and modern cello), with the possibility of following the lessons at home, by webcam or at home, in French, Italian and English.

The method that I adopted in my studies and that I teach is Suzuki: working on the student, nourishing his environment with stimuli and simultaneously developing his artistic and technical maturity, his morality and his character.

My teacher's credo

As an opera singer, I have had the opportunity to perform on international stages while continuing to teach, which is a true vocation for me.

In vocal pedagogy, I believe that each student is the bearer of a unique instrument: their voice. This is why it is essential to adapt teaching and methodological tools to the individuality of each student. This approach allows me to conduct my classes in a variety of ways, choosing the most relevant vocal exercises or repertoire pieces to reveal the individual potential of each voice.

My technique is based on:

* in-depth breathing exercises,
* awareness of the whole body as an instrument,
* understanding the biological principles of breathing and its artistic role,
* the development of a free and resonant vocal emission.

My main objectives are to:

* maintain a feeling of high vocal position, awareness of resonant cavities in singing,
* work on the purity and continuity of vowels (legato), work on diction (Italian, German, French, etc.)
* gradually develop the tessitura,
* harmonize and balance the different vocal registers.

Katherine has been vocally trained in contemporary for 25 years and studied classical voice for three years. After developing Muscular Tension Dysphonia in 2010 and not singing for almost two years, she overcame this vocal disorder after working with some of the best voice and voice rehabilitation specialists in the UK. This experience further motivated her interest in teaching the following to her students in contemporary voice* using knowledge and training gained by renowned vocal coaches, ENTs and voice rehabilitation specialists:

A professional musician for 10 years, I have extensive experience on stage, in the studio, and teaching. (I have recorded over twenty albums and have toured extensively in France and internationally.)
