Hello! I am a classical pianist and composer based in Paris. I have 10 years of experience as a piano teacher, with students of all ages and backgrounds. I have always been passionate about music, and started playing piano when I was four. I studied with internationally known pianist Jin Ju at the the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola, (Italy), I own a master in Piano from Florence (Italy) and a master in Composition from the Royal Conservatory in the Hague (Netherlands).

About Me

Hello! I am a classical pianist based in Paris. I have 10 years of experience as a piano teacher, with students of all ages and backgrounds. I have always been passionate about music, and started playing piano when I was four. I studied with internationally known pianist Jin Ju at the the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola, (Italy), I own a master in Piano from Florence (Italy) and a master in Composition from the Royal Conservatory in the Hague (Netherlands).

I think it’s very important to create a motivating and positive environment for the lessons, as my goal is to help you enjoy piano and to give you solid technical and theoretical bases, as well as a good understanding of music as a whole.
My lessons are tailored to the needs of each student, so I will build up a study program based on your own abilities, goals and musical interests to make sure that the learning process always remains fun and engaging. I mostly work on classical and pop music, but do not hesitate to express your own choices and preferences of course! From experience, both as a teacher and as a student before, I know that working on pieces that you love really is the best way to learn, so I always make sure to choose the repertoire together with my students.

During my lessons you will learn to:

-Further develop your understanding of music regarding harmony, notes, rhythm, scales, arpeggios, chords and much more
-Read scores
-Make regular progresses until you are able to play that piece that you always wanted to learn

I will also help you prepare for exams such as ABRSM.

Maarten will give you the piano lessons. He can teach classical, and jazz piano. He graduated his studies in the conservatory of Amsterdam with prof. Jan Wijn and graduated with the highest score among piano students (Bachelor of Music, piano). He played several solo and chamber music concerts in concert hall, church, museum, library, hospital and elderly houses. He is regularly invited by Belgium Chamber music festival to play with famous musicians such as guitarist philip Catherine. Recently he graduated master degree in Brussels Conservatorium studying with prof. Boyan Vodenitcharov. Since he has a lot of knowledge of harmonization and counterpoints, he has composed and arranged many works and played many of his own pieces in concerts.

Asako will give the cello lessons. She has master degree, cello performance and chamber music, also has an academic university diploma for Musicology. She studied in Japan, Hungary (Franz Liszt Academy), Norway (Norway Academy of Music), and Netherlands (Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Utrecht Conservatoire).She can teach in Japanese, English and on a basic level in Hungarian and French. Asako can teach the cello for all levels and ages. Especially She is enthusiastic about teaching.

Learning music, is directly connected to the cognition system of our mind, and our cognition is the first step to perceiving the music, so it is essential to understand music and perform it.
I am proposing classes in Piano, Composition, and Music Theory and writings.
In the class of Piano depending on the student's wishes, we work on different methods, from learning music just as an activity to students who wish to continue their profession as a musician.
The class of composition has the same algorithm as the piano class, the method selection is based on the student's wishes.
Music Theory is proposed in both classes of composition and piano on the side but for the students who wish to learn music theory separately with more concentration, I offer this class as a separate class too.
Class of Harmony and Writing actually has the same situation as music theory classes but students in the course of composition will be more specialized in harmony and counterpoint than piano students and of course, this course is proposed as a separate class too.

Katherine has been vocally trained in contemporary for 25 years and studied classical voice for three years. After developing Muscular Tension Dysphonia in 2010 and not singing for almost two years, she overcame this vocal disorder after working with some of the best voice and voice rehabilitation specialists in the UK. This experience further motivated her interest in teaching the following to her students in contemporary voice* using knowledge and training gained by renowned vocal coaches, ENTs and voice rehabilitation specialists:

- Vocal technique, health and hygiene
- Guidance in voice rehabilitation with students experiencing or recovering from vocal issues

Katherine has over 15 years experience in one-to-one lessons, teaching students aged 4 years old to 50 years old of all levels and has developed programs for small choirs. Please be advised students under the age of 9 years old will be offered 30 min lessons only and will comprise of a combination of music and singing-related games and exercises.
