About Me

Hi! I’m Wessel, a pianist, producer and music teacher from the Netherlands, recently based in Paris.

Music has been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. I studied piano and music theory at pre-conservatory level before continuing my musical education at the Rotterdam Conservatory, where I specialised in piano, music theory and composition.

Alongside teaching, I’m also an active artist and producer under the name NEWĀRK. I write and produce my own music and have performed more than 100 concerts and festivals in the Netherlands and abroad.

I’ve been teaching piano for over 10 years and have worked with children, teenagers and adults of all levels, from complete beginners to more advanced musicians. I love adapting my lessons to each student’s personality, level and musical interests.

Whether you want to learn your favourite songs, improve your technique, understand music theory, learn to read sheet music or explore improvisation and composition, we can build the lessons around your own goals.

Maarten will give you the piano lessons. He can teach classical, and jazz piano. He graduated his studies in the conservatory of Amsterdam with prof. Jan Wijn and graduated with the highest score among piano students (Bachelor of Music, piano). He played several solo and chamber music concerts in concert hall, church, museum, library, hospital and elderly houses. He is regularly invited by Belgium Chamber music festival to play with famous musicians such as guitarist philip Catherine. Recently he graduated master degree in Brussels Conservatorium studying with prof. Boyan Vodenitcharov. Since he has a lot of knowledge of harmonization and counterpoints, he has composed and arranged many works and played many of his own pieces in concerts.

Asako will give the cello lessons. She has master degree, cello performance and chamber music, also has an academic university diploma for Musicology. She studied in Japan, Hungary (Franz Liszt Academy), Norway (Norway Academy of Music), and Netherlands (Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Utrecht Conservatoire).She can teach in Japanese, English and on a basic level in Hungarian and French. Asako can teach the cello for all levels and ages. Especially She is enthusiastic about teaching.

After 6 years of studying piano, jazz piano and pedagogy in the Netherlands, I am back in France. I was the top piano teacher in the French community of Amsterdam for 3 years with 30 students per week.

Katherine has been vocally trained in contemporary for 25 years and studied classical voice for three years. After developing Muscular Tension Dysphonia in 2010 and not singing for almost two years, she overcame this vocal disorder after working with some of the best voice and voice rehabilitation specialists in the UK. This experience further motivated her interest in teaching the following to her students in contemporary voice* using knowledge and training gained by renowned vocal coaches, ENTs and voice rehabilitation specialists:

Having graduated from the Mozart Conservatory of Paris in flute and holding a certificate of musical training from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris, I have been playing the flute for almost 15 years.

Flute lessons:
