About Me

Italian violin and viola player with a Bachelor in classical music with the viola (Music Conservatory "G. Verdi", Turin, Italy) and a Master degree in Irish traditional music performance with the violin ("Irish World Academy of Music and Dance", University of Limerick, Ireland). Long experience in performing (soloist, string quartets, chamber music, orchestrata) and I love teaching to students of all ages and levels, interacting with them and working on different methods according to the needs and goals of each student.

Education

Bachelor degree (101/110) in classical viola performance at "Giuseppe Verdi"
Music Conservatory, Turin, Italy, 2014-17, with a deep interest for chamber music and string quartets.
During the Bachelor in classical viola I started playing with a rock band ("Miriam", Turin) performing and touring all over Italy, and getting interesting in what was happening outside of classical music. I studied Jazz violin for two years, and then git interested in Irish traditional music. In 2016 I was selected to take part to the program at the University od Limerick. In January 2019 I graduated in a Master degree in Irish music performance, fiddle, at the "Irish World Academy", "University of Limerick" (Limerick, Ireland).

I am an italian bass player, I'm 25 years old and actually I am finishing the last year of my bachelor in jazz music at Codarts. If you're a beginner i will teach you the basics of the instrument and the basics of musical theory (wich is essential to be a good bass player). We will also dive into various musical genres, trying to have a complete approach to music as possible. If you already play bass and want to improve your skills or your knowledge of musical theory i will teach you some advanced techniques and focus on advanced harmony and studies for improvisation. Feeling good with your body and listening to it, understanding where the sound comes from and how to produce it, learning the basics and how to read the notes and the score, learning tricks and daily exercises without the instrument to help you develop your agility and muscles, playing together duets to get closer to the chamber music world and to learn how to listen and collaborate with others. I think it's important to listen also to the student's requests and desires; if you have a tune or a piece that you would love to play we can work on it together.

Folk music is also an interesting way through which we can get closer to the instrument and the music world, playing traditional dances from different countries and discovering different music languages.

As every person has his own physiognomy and musculature, we will try to find together a correct and comfortable posture that better suits the student to create a connection with the instrument. Warming-up and taking care of our body is part of a musician's life (beginner, amateur or professional) and it is important to prevent injuries and muscle pain. Unfortunately this aspect is not often taken into account and for this reason I aim to transmit this value to my students.
