Piano lessons are usually on 1-to-1 basis whereas music theory can be taught in groups. Can teach from beginner level to professional level. Students are expected to practice after lessons. Grand piano and upright piano are provided in the studio.

I have got DipABRSM and have rich experiences in piano competitions. I have taught piano in Hong Kong and Switzerland.

Teaching language: Cantonese and English (I cannot type Cantonese below)

There are different types of piano pieces. I have the strong classical background and I am familiar with Mozart (Sonata) and Chopin's works (e.g. ballades, nocturnes, waltz, etc).

I also pay attention to modern music and can help you learn all kinds of modern song instantly.

For composing songs, I can show you how to develop melodies in desired tonic keys, and how to decorate your melodies with chords.

Man Ting is graduated from the Monash University, majoring in Classical Piano. She has developed an extensive musical sense, knowledge and stylish skills from various famous musicians throughout her studies in Australia, included Ms, Lucinda Collins (the head of classical piano) from the Elder Conservatorium Of Music; Mr. Darryl Coote and Mr. Len Vorster. Man Ting enjoys playing music and working with others. Her expertise is in beginner and intermediate piano pedagogy. She has successfully implemented both U.S and UK music education systems and is familiar with various music examination schools such as ABRSM and Suzuki.

A former scholar at the Royal College of Music London, sponsored by The Kenneth and Violet Scott Award, I earned a degree in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Nigel Clayton, Peter Jablonski and Ruth Nye. I was also a recipient of Talent Development Scholarship awarded by the Hong Kong Government Scholarship Scheme.

Started learning the piano at the age of 4, I won numerous prizes in different competitions including Asia Piano Open Competition, TOYAMA Asian Youth Music Competition, Inter-School International Performance Challenge and Hong Kong Schools Music Festivals. In 2018, I was also one of the finalists in the Liszt Memorial Prizes Hong Kong International Piano Open Competition.

I have been actively engaged in music teaching since 2013. Starting my career in Opus 1 Arts Music Studio in Hong Kong, I continued inspiring the next generation when I moved to London in 2015, where I was appointed as the piano teacher in the Lanterns School of the Performing Arts London and London Music Centre.

<Why learn online?>
Unlike instrumental lessons, learning music theory online does not have any disadvantages. Using zoom, students can learn via shared screen and white board just like face-to-face lessons. Why not save your weekly travel time as well!

<Biography>
I am a concert pianist and a piano teacher native to Japan but I also enjoy teaching music theory very much as I strongly believe understanding of Music Theory can aid your principal instrument playing enormously!
I have been a head of Music Theory Department in a music academy in HK as well as a senior Piano Instructor for the past years. Frank Wu (B.Mus, MA) is a Hong Kong based piano teacher with a passion for music education.

A native of Hong Kong, Frank spent formative years honing his craft as a musician in Australia. He is an alumnus of the Australian Institute of Music, where he studied composition under the guidance of renowned Australian composers Eric Chapus and Drew Crawford. As a live performer, he was an active member in the vibrant Sydney music scene, accumulating extensive performing experience both as a pianist and keyboardist.

On returning to his hometown of Hong Kong, Frank chose to focus his passion in music education. To further his professional development as a teacher, he attained his Master's degree in Music from the Hong Kong Baptist University, graduating with highest honors with a focus on piano pedagogy and early childhood music education.

With over seven years of teaching experience, Frank is a seasoned music teacher who has taught students of all ages - from preschool children to senior adults. He adopts a student-centered approach, accounting for each student's unique abilities to create customized lesson content that enable them to realize their musical potential.
