Are you enthusiastic about singing but don't know where to begin?

Have you been singing for a while but want to refine your technique and vocal skills?

Or are you an experienced singing working towards auditions or exams?

Well, you've come to the right place! My name is Ryan and I'm a professional singer with five years of experience as a cathedral and freelance musician, performing both classical and popular music. I have been providing singing lessons to students of varying abilities for over four years. Whilst I help my students to develop their vocal skills and progress through the singing grades, they also have a lot of fun and enjoy expressing themselves through song.

What can you expect from lessons with me?

I ensure that every lesson is geared to the particular requirements of you, the student. I encourage my students to come to lessons with a song or two to work on and, through learning songs, we focus on varying aspects of singing technique, including posture and breathing. I believe this to be a more enjoyable approach than focusing on boring vocal exercises, and also builds up a repertoire for you to use. You'll learn real, practical tools for singing in these lessons whilst also having an enjoyable time expressing yourself through song!

About Me
Hello, my name is Ryan. I'm a professional singer with five years of experience as a cathedral musician and freelance singer, performing both classical and popular music.

I studied performance and singing at the University of Bristol and completed a masters in Musicology at King's College, London.

I have been providing singing lessons to students of varying abilities for over four years. Whilst I help my students to develop their vocal skills, prepare for auditions, and progress through the singing grades, they also have a lot of fun and enjoy expressing themselves through song.

My ideal students are those who come to each lesson with a song they want to sing and an enormous level of enthusiasm and passion for learning about their voice. For me, a lesson has gone well if the student leaves each lesson with a smile on their face, the desire to practice at home, and an eagerness to attend the following lesson.

My lessons are designed to be dynamic, supportive, and confidence-building, creating a safe space where students can explore and enjoy singing without fear or pressure. I strongly believe that learning music should feel exciting, empowering, and personal. Whether you are a complete beginner or someone with previous experience, my goal is to help you feel comfortable using your voice and expressing yourself freely while developing healthy vocal habits.

Classes combine vocal technique, breathing exercises, interpretation, musicality, acting tools, diction, and fun performance-based activities adapted to each student’s level, musical taste, and goals. As a bilingual actor and singer with professional experience in musical theatre, live performance, television, and music projects in Mexico, the United States, and Spain, I also help students connect emotionally with songs, improve stage presence, and build confidence while performing in front of others.

My vocal background includes training in musical theatre, jazz singing, gospel music, choral singing, contemporary music, and vocal coaching. Thanks to this variety of styles and techniques, lessons can be adapted for students interested in musical theatre, pop, contemporary music, jazz, or simply discovering and improving their natural voice.

One of my biggest priorities is vocal health. Students will learn how their vocal instrument truly works, how to use it correctly, and how to sing safely without hurting themselves. Understanding your voice is just as important as developing it, and I make sure every exercise is done in a healthy and sustainable way.

I believe every voice has potential, and every student deserves encouragement, patience, and a positive environment throughout their artistic journey. As Gusteau says in Ratatouille: “Everyone can sing.”
