Through the creative medium of visual art, I will fit the lesson plan according to your needs. Do you want to learn colour theory? I will teach you, using information from key texts. Would you like to learn how to travel journal successfully for an upcoming trip? Let me know and I can work with you to create an entirely unique lesson centred on the materials you want to use, how to use them and how to create habits.

I've internationally exhibited in many mediums, as well as nationally (in the UK) over 20 times, including with the Tate, with the Mayflower 400 initiative, a space arts and God's House Tower. I work traditionally in physical mediums such as watercolour, oil paint, acrylics, gouache, coloured pencil, charcoal and graphite.

I graduated with a First Class BA Honours in Fine Art from Southampton University. I run workshops for groups locally, and work with therapeutic art techniques. I'm well-versed in grant writing, having achieved 3 successful grants to date and my work is featured in a number of publications. I have been fortunate enough to have works in private collections.

My hours are flexible, and the range of mediums I work in is too. I have experience teaching, and am bilingual in English and Greek.
Extra information
If working online you will need to bring the materials in the suggested materials list provided, for example, if working in graphite you will need a range of pencil tones. If working in person, then I will supply the materials for the session.

About Me
Hi, I'm Gullu,

I'm an artist and workshop facilitator living in Southampton.
I was born in Hampshire, and moved to Southampton for university and have stayed ever since. I love that we have big city energy and yet are still surrounded by greenery (or orangery right now as it is Autumn). Near me, there are many natural wonders, thanks to the closeness of the New Forest.

I live with my husband and 5 cats, in the SO16 postcode, I am disabled so I do find stairs difficult but if you're interested in hiring me to tutor you face-to-face, we can always meet at a local cafe, or online via webcam.

My goal is to help you find creative freedom, to help you find your own artistic "voice" aka style through teaching basics such as Colour Theory, Composition and more. My goal in life is to promote creativity at all ages, due to the great benefits of it which include stress reduction and uplifting mental health benefits.

If you're interested in reaching out to me or seeing some of my work please contact me and I can send you a portfolio of past works. Please specify if you would like to see sketchbook work or finished pieces, or a mixture of both.

I find one of the best ways to understand someone is to ask who their favourite/ top 5 favourite artists are. It gives you a glimpse into their world view. I'll go first.
Mine are: Frida Kahlo (did you know she was a wheelchair user?), Louise Bourgeois, Claude Monet, Van Gogh (did you know in his early life he was a religious man but became disillusioned with how the religion/ religious people treated him?) and a tie between Sophie Calle/ Jenny Holzer. To find out why, you'll have to contact me!

I'm a voracious reader, and having studied English Literature, everything I read is annotated! I also write on Substack, and have an email newsletter that's sent out, sign up if you're interested!

I am also available to be hired for special event stationery (think weddings, baptisms, anniversaries, ,memorials), business illustrations (cafe's, books etc) as well as for commissions for such events. If you're interested please don't hesitate to contact me as depending on the service I might need a few months.
