My name is Daria and I am a Language and Literature teacher. Born in the UK and raised in Sydney Australia. I am currently living in Istanbul Turkey.

I am enthusiastic and passionate about the English language. I enjoy teaching through use of texts, literature and films. Students learn to use critical thinking skills. They improve their reading comprehension skills as well as writing and speaking.

I obtained a BA in English literature and a PGCE. Literature was my first choice to study and the PGCE enabled me to hone my classroom management skills by using differentiated learning strategies and using both summative and formative assessment techniques. I have experience in leadership, curriculum design and excellent classroom management skills.

I have use a variety of imaginative resources which are content based and encourage students to develop themselves as they study and participate in active lessons aimed at increasing their motivation and participation.

I have over 20 years of experience in teaching and tutoring students of English. I enjoy planning lessons and content around individual needs and assessment. I am highly experienced in assessing and catering to different types of learners.

I use innovative methods including active learning, positive reinforcement, flipped teaching strategies and project-based learning. My students learn at their own pace and achieve their own learning goals corresponding to the goals that I have set for them. I encourage students to use technology during their studies and for handing in homework.
I mark homework and provide feedback both verbally and in written form every lesson.

Hi, I am Hatice from Istanbul.

I HAVE BEEN TEACHİNG ONLINE AND FACE TO FACE FOR 25 YEARS.
I am a native speaker of Turkish and was born in Istanbul.

I have been teaching Turkish to foreigners and I have taught hundreds of students from all ages and professions for more than 20 years. I am a professional English teacher but I like teaching Turkish more as it is my mother tongue and it is a great pleasure for me to share its secrets and beauty.

While teaching I also love giving some useful information about the culture, people, cuisine, films and literature in Turkey to help you get connected to Turkish culture. I prepare written and verbal dialogues in the areas the student is interested in.

I am from Istanbul but I traveled almost all cities, mountains, rivers, lakes in Turkey. I am a person who likes less traveled roads and back streets. Traveling around the world and reading on the areas of spirituality, philosophy, psychology, and literature are my number one hobbies. I lived and worked in London, Toronto, and S. Korea. Living as an expat and learning several languages have helped me having sympathy with my students. Motivation, feeling relaxed and setting realistic targets, in the beginning, are usually the first thing to go.

As for my formal education, I studied Economics, International Relations, Western Philosophy, and American language and literature at the university (MA and BA). And after my 40 years old, I learned classical Arabic and Persian and started to study Islamic spirituality at the doctorate level. I taught English at Prep. school at Istanbul Technical University and Yeditepe University and am retired. Ever since I could remember I have been a teacher. Now I only teach Turkish privately and translate classical novels from English to Turkish. I translated 12 books from English to Turkish.

I teach Turkish that is tailored for each student. Each student is unique for me and I know that every student has her/his own way of learning.
If you are a beginner I give a short lecture about the history of Turkish and its characteristics and help you find your way in this very logical, consistent and elegant language. You understand that Turkish is different but that does not necessarily mean difficulty.
From the first lesson, you start speaking Turkish and find yourself in a dialogue.

I use several books using a grammar-based approach integrated with communicative methods to boost the development of all language skills. But we always focus on TALK, TALK, TALK. As a language learner for many years, I know one can learn, improve and take pleasure in a foreign language only by talking and communicating. It is essential to get direct pleasure from what you have learned. My aim is to motivate and inspire you to speak Turkish ignoring minor mistakes and without thinking grammar.

I try to keep in contact with my students almost every day through whatsapp and email. And start some short dialogues.

This class is for people who want to improve their English speaking skills. My Goal is to make my students learn English like a native, hence my students are only allowed to talk in English with me. I use a lot of external material in my class such as books, movie clips, and university lectures to help my students understand the language thoroughly. I also give regular homework to my students which usually are worksheets, movies, and books in accordance to their language level.

I have been living in Istanbul in Turkey. I have been teaching IELTS, TOEFL, ITEP, GMAT, GRE and general speaking for all ages. As a teacher, I have 10 years experience and in any platform I can enhance your English level.

Most of the people are prone to learn English, however this process may not be always possible. This stems from methods that the teacher utilizes. To have students learn the language cannot be provided with cliche and trite means. Without having sense of humor and without knowing the importance the acquisition of vocabulary and reading skills, how would it be possible to learn it? Grammar is such a thing which does not necessarily mean everything. In fact, in a balanced way it can be built up. Reading should be done compatible with learners level. Specifically, After you have read one page in any book, if there are more than 5 words, it posits that your level is not suitable to read and maintain. English learning is like a factory. Raw metarials which are listening and reading and after being processed them, they come up with an output such as writing and speaking.

In speaking section, acquiring words and practice are must. But it will be more beneficial if they are great mixture of grammar and vocabulary harmonically.

We will start our lessons by learning the most basic skills such as correct pronunciation and simple grammar rules.

Based on my 13 years of experience, I think that A1 level is a very important period in language learning. When learning any language, beginner level students should learn it in the correct order and important details should be explained well by practising previous ones. Students at more advanced levels, such as A2, B1 or above, also need to practice their skills at the previous level thoroughly to improve their language skills. I try to provide good teaching by paying attention to these important points in my lessons. I keep our lessons' notes in a word file. After our lessons, I send you back all the additional notes and exercises that we covered in our lesson as a Word file.
