About Me

I am a husband and a father of two teenagers. I live in Japan, but I come from the US.
I love teaching. I love the moment when the lights go on in a student's eyes that says, "Now I understand!"
I enjoy reading and writing, and I try to share that passion for language with the people I teach.
I love questions, and am happy to feed a curious mind.
I am also a movie buff and word and number puzzle enthusiast.

Education

I got a Bachelor of Arts in Portuguese Language and Literature at Brigham Young University and then continued studying Romance Languages in the Masters program at the University of North Carolina.

I am a TEFL certified English instructor with more than 25 years of teaching experience. I've taught at every age from preschool to university and at every level from total beginners to professional translators.
